With the Rangers season now over, it's time to wish best of luck to the crews doing the work to complete the arena renovation. Any and all updates that can be shared with us would be much appreciated.

Just looked at the earthcam (have to do the same thing as last year - bump your PC's date up a month to get a current image). Looks like they wasted little if any time getting started.

If you look closely you can see Torts legs sticking out from under the garden vision

Garden was officially closed to people who are not construction workers in the afternoon today. They've also walled off the entrances in the front (where they're going to make that Chase Square). I could take a picture tomorrow but it's literally just a big temporary wall. Can't see anything really. What's funny is that they created a makeshift box office trailer in front of the wall. It's kind of comical how small it is.

This probably will be the fastest installment of the 3 phases? Just the bridges & new jumbotron?

Budweiser Fan Deck is being put in on the 10th floor where the suites are currently. Bridges will connect that and the West Balcony. 9th floor suites are also being remodeled plus there's a new ice plant being put in and the new lobby mentioned above.

HUH? This will probably be the longest and most complicated phase. There's a ton of work being done including demo'ing the entire floor and putting in the bridges and budweiser deck, and building out an entirely new main entrance. Then there's the ceiling remodel and gardenvision replacement, and new ice plant install

Time to say goodbye to that old, crappy scoreboard.

What's the timeline on phase 3?

Are we starting next season with plenty of "away games" or are they finished before the season starts?

When does the season start?

Yes. I forgot about the entrance etc.... Hence my question marks.

I actually liked our scoreboard. Nice and simple especially with the players on ice graphic. Only gripe I had was that the actual video board was way too small.

Believe it or not, the garden did not have an overhead scoreboard when it first opened in 1968. I believe it was not until the mid 80's when the finally put one up.

Then I guess it'll be back to the good old days for anyone sitting in the top rows of the upper bowl starting next year

All scoreboard technology, overhead or otherwise, was pretty bad back then. I just hope they don't skimp on this one. I want something like this:

I don't care what the new Gardenvision looks like because I won't be able to see it from the seats that I purchase in the upper 200's....

Sell it to an expansion franchise. Not like the Rangers offense has given it much use.
