This is true with age and time.

The question is, has Thomas been keeping up with his yoga. His success is said to have been in part from his yoga exercises.

Reimer must have been a bad kid to give up a 4-1 lead with 10 minutes left in Game 7.

The prayer after that game must've been pretty awkward

You know, the last time he played hockey, which was over a year ago.

Age doesn't treat 39 year old men well when they take year long breaks.
we have seen in the past when elite atheletes might retire for a year or two they can often come back

people said Lemieux couldn't come back... Roberts couldn't come back... hasek couldn't come back... lafleur couldn't come back

usually people are wrong. if an atlete was 'finished' before the retirement/time off then of course very rarely is the comeback successful. but its really no different then injuries. In baseball we see a guy like rivera lose all last season to an injury and he comes back just fine. injuries can stop a guy from working out... but it really doesn't take these elite athletes long to get back to the top of their game once they heal and start their comebacks.

if Thomas has his heart set on a comeback... im sure he will manage just fine. the question becomes is his heart going to be in it? will his mind be? cause he was checking out even as he played the last season... turning his attention to politics and all sorts of other distractions.

if he could convince me he is serious about a comeback... id take him in a second. but that is very iffy to me. im glad my bruins moved on. I wish Thomas all the best but I feel our team is better off going forward with rask

Thomas wouldn't want to play in a socialist country like Canada.

This past season he was definitely better.

Will that trend continue? Do you really want to gamble on a 39 year old.

He honestly WAS an upgrade over Ben, is he now is a different question.

I love Reimer, but if Thomas is half as good as he was, he's our intrim #1

No thanks. 39 year old who hasn't played in awhile. Reimer/ Scrivens proved to be a decent duo, I think Nonis should focue elsewhere (i.e #1 center / top 4 shutdown dman). Plus we have a lot of players to get signed and deserve raises with the cap going down..

I can't imagine Thomas on the Leafs. I seriously doubt this rumor has any merit to it, but who knows this time of year I guess? Would hate to see Timmy in our division, though, even though he hasn't played in forever.

They were decent but why does decent have to be enough? maybe that's good enough for some fans but Leafs fan deserve better then decent.

I don't want him just because he'd be a locker room cancer. I don't doubt he'd easily be the best goalie on the Leafs but do you really want him spouting what he last heard on Glen Beck's radio show in the locker room?

The guy is tin foil hat crazy.

In that case they should see what Dryden's doing this year.

Is there any way the Leafs franchise could trade Howard Berger?

for less than 4 million, I would gamble on Thomas over Scrivens. I'm shocked Ben didn't get **** on like everyone else on the Leafs gets when they don't meet expectations. He has alot more development to do; not sure what everyones love for him is all about; did not steal 1 game all year.

Jacques Plante came out of retirement at 40 after a 3 year hiatus.........if you know your history, you know the story has a pretty good ending!

If Thomas would agree to a 2 yr deal and was content being the b/u and mentor playing 30-36 games.....then it may be worth the gamble

Leaf fans don't like the idea, seriously? So, someone who has won the Vezina and has a Cup ring is of no use to the Leafs' current goalies and to the team? Gimme a break.

It would be a short deal due to his age and I think the question is, is there any reason he'd want to choose Toronto? Boston is good as a hockey town for an American city but to go to Toronto?

The Leafs would be fortunate to get him and he'd be a good mentor for the Leaf goalies. Isn't he pretty decent at rebounds?
