Allsvenskan is actually a pretty good league. Just look at the teams that have been promoted in the last few years to the Elite league and teams like Timra, Djurgarden, Södertälje, Rogle, and Malmo who have been relegated.

Ok, which one of you did this?

HAH, grew up like 2 houses away from Maxim Lamarche when I was a kid. We used to play street hockey every evening before dinner. So weird! Hope the best for him.

obviously that's the reason why Brunner performed from day 1 in the NHL and Raffl will need some time to further develop his game. But he's got a 3 years contract, so the Flyers are ready to provide him sufficient time to grow up

Raffl got an one year contract, $792,500 in the NHL, $70,000 in the AHL .... Lamarche got the usual three year entry-level-contract. [capgeek]

There is still a lot of confusion about Raffl's contract. Several Austrian news portals are reporting a 3 year contract.

The length of the contract (3 years) is mentioned two times in the following interview with Michael Raffl and even though he (the player) does not explicitely mention the terms himself, he also does not object when the interviewer refers to the topic.

http://www.laola1.at/de/wintersport/...-199-199-.html (German)

On a side note, Raffl is really excited to join the Flyers. He is talking about a lifetime opportunity and although he always liked the Flyers in general, he admits that he would have pretty much accepted any remaining offer just to get a chance to ever play a game in the NHL. So far, he hasn't chatted with any representative of the Flyers' front office (the deal went down exclusively via his agent Patrick Pilloni) but he is well aware that he will most likely have to start the season with the Phantoms and it doesn't really bother him that much.
When asked about in what area he needs to improve most, he has to admit that he doesn't know how his play and the North American style of hockey will fit together and that he can't really assess himself but tells the reporter that he will put an emphasis on heavy workouts and getting stronger in general and that he can't really change a lot about his style of play due to not having access to any on-ice facilities during the summer.
He also talks about possibly coming over to NA earlier and working out together with Michael Grabner from the Isles.

Europeans coming over age 24 get one-year ELC. That's standard across the board, non-negotiable. What they can do is agree to a contract extension on July 5.

No, he's right.

http://www.capgeek.com/faq/how-do-en...racts-work.php

Quote:
Players younger than 25 as of Sept. 15 in the calendar year their first NHL contract is signed are subject to the terms of Article 9 of the CBA and must sign an entry-level contract (ELC). This means the amount of salary and team-paid performance bonuses is capped, depending on his draft year or the year he signs. The length of the ELC is also specified based on the player's age.
AGE LENGTH
18-21 3 years
22-23 2 years
24 1 year
25+ No Restriction *
* A one-year entry-level restriction applies to drafted players from Europe aged 25 to 27.
Raffl doesn't turn 25 until December 1. He is only eligible for a one-year deal.

Are either of these dudes a threat to make the roster or are they just ADK filler?

I guess Raffl has a shot, but Lamarche probably won't amount to much

you never know though

Sorry it took a while to answer this, but I was just told that Raffl's contract with the #Flyers is only a one-year deal. All hail @capgeek

Well that sucks. Would he be a UFA or RFA next year?

Have to assume RFA, since he's not 27.

Meltzer is supposed to have an article about him today. Interested to read that since Bill has a good pulse on international play.
