in terms of law he just havent any legit contract/ Thats all/ if he will have nhl cotract he cant return back to khl. The rest - his agent twaddle. Nichushkin just said - He wants to use KHL - in AHL role -If his new team decides to send him to AHL they can send him to KHL were he developed very well.

How much do people think it's a question of level (AHL vs. NHL) versus how much is a question of pay scale (being paid at the NHL/KHL level, even if he's assigned to the AHL)?

Nichushkin himself isn't really a guy who'd refuse playing in the AHL. He made his way through the VHL this season and his prime motivation back then was exactly the experience necessary for his growth as a player. It just seems like recently he started to reprise the instructions given to him by his agent (who's indeed interested in his money) in every single interview. And it's not really clear what's the deal between Mark Gandler and Dynamo management.

Nichushkin says he doesn't have a contract in the KHL for next year but makes it clear he has no interest in the AHL. May hurt where he goes

I think that would be best for his development.
I could see him not being drafted in the 1st round with the fact that he isn't considering AHL.
Anyone else that thinks like me?

Is there any chance he could be converted back to center? Did he play center for a while before?

I think so. Not sure why it would matter to an NHL team if he plays in AHL or KHL as long as he's available to be recalled when they want him. KHL is a better league imo and he'd be at home so to speak.

Facepalm to the Bolts if they do that.

You don't pick a question mark as big as Nichushkin over Drouin.

You do if Nichushkin is the top player on your board. Not saying he is, but it's not inconceivable based on his build, skill-set and potential that any team in the top-5 may have him ahead of Drouin, MacKinnon or Jones.

Nichushkin did a mere 8 push-ups! 11 if you include the last three weak ones.
The combine average is 25.
Several like Subban did 30+ push-ups.

Nichushkin als failed to complete the bike hose lung capacity test, and was weak on the bike.

Watch the VIDEOS!

He didn't have the upper body strength or cardio performances of several others who tested.

And I only watched the videos of five guys!

Spin it as: "wow, imagine if he actually gets into shape this summer!!" if you want. But his height and weight alone ought not to fool anyone as to his fitness or lack thereof.

He is nooooooooooooooooooot NHL ready!

You're funny.

I'm a Drouin fan sincr his days at LSL but I wonder how many bench pres reps or push up would he be able to do after a long season like he just had. So yeah, the same applies to Nichushkin.

He said him self he wasn't ready for these kinds of test. He is a great prospect, and very close to be NHL ready at least.

And I think scouts are gonna say: "He didn't do better? Great, then he has lots of upside and chance to improve".

I too was surprised by his results...his season ended well over a month ago..any body fatigue he experienced from a long season should have passed weeks ago...He's just not yet a well conditioned professional athlete...but the results of physical testing don't really factor in all that much to the decision making process...Whoever drafts him should insist on him spending the summer in N.America and enroll him in the Gary Roberts summer program...he'd whip him into tip top shape. There is just no excuse for those types of results. They were ahhhhh..... pisspoor.

If thats true, then he has attitude issues. Going all the way to try to impress scouts, and not even giving it his best. He should rather skipped the physicals tests if this is the case, like Jones, MacKinnon and Drouin.

In no way, shape or form would it be better if he skipped it entirely. He would've been labeled lazy unlike the other 3.
