I would offer Smith, blum, and our #4 for the first pick this year. If they asked for more I would simply hang up and pick 4th.

I think trading away the pick to possibly fill the void with someone another team is willing to trade could be a disaster.
That's what I'm saying. We can get a second pairing defenseman through a trade or through free agency. When it comes to getting the center we need, our best shot is this draft IMO.

I have a weird feeling that pulock is going to really slide in the draft, if he is still around late first round, poile should try to make a move to get him. I don't think he will be an amazing defenseman, but a steady top four I think.

Just read that central scouting has barkov and jones rated as top two prospects for draft.

Jones for North America and Barkov for international. I think Mac and Drouin are still rates higher than Barkov. That article reads a little funny. I thought the same thing.

For some reason I have the feeling that we are going to take Lindholm

I leave for a three week wilderness trip on June 30th, draft day. I won't have internet or phone access for three weeks. The suspense will literally rip me apart, but if we trade the pick or draft Lindholm, at least I'll live in ignorant bliss for three extra weeks.

TBL fans in their forum seem to be willing to swap 3rd pick for our 4th place plus our 3rd round. With the 3rd pick I believe we could entice Avs to trade down because they would be guaranteed of getting either Jones or Drouin. I think Smith and Blum would get it done for sure so long as they aren't dead set on getting jones (which I think maybe they aren't).

I would rather keep the fourth and just draft barkov rather than lose third round pick, smith and fourth for just third.

Besides, I could see us working deal straight up with Tampa just for third overall because I have feeling those boys want nichushkin. Which could easily be had at four.

My proposal would get us the #1 pick in a two step trade. MacK for smith Blum and a 3rd rounder

Have to assume no one will take a flyer on him ether. Shame always thought he would regret not taking the NCAA route and going pro. Would prob be doing better and if not be getting a good education to fall back on

That would be a surprise and could indicate Barkov did not want to play in Nashville. If he interviewed poorly then Lindholm was the option

I think they're closer talent wise than a lot on here do. Barkov is bigger but Lindholm is much faster and an overall better skater.

Or because they make a trade with someone to move back and in return get a 2nd pairing D man or forward to replace Erat.

lol, just delivering information on what I've read.

I'm not a pro scout and have never seen any of these guys live so I really can't compare any of them.

Lightning fan here, just with a thing I was wondering. I know Barkov seems to be your guy, but would you be mad at all if the Preds go with Nichushkin? I know it doesn't fill a need, and he might not even be BPA, but it is still kind of fun to possibly roll a line with Forsberg & Nichushkin on it one day, right?

Yes, due to the fact that he's already stated he'd go back to the KHL if he is sent to the AHL. I do not want to risk it.

We'll be in a position to draft one of Jones/Mack/Drouin/Barkov Poile can't be that stupid to muck that up.

Dynamic goal scorers are always a need.

I wouldn't be upset as long as Poile felt good about it.

I wonder if Pittsburgh was upset when they drafted Malkin, with the Russian factor and all or Ovechkin with Washington? No, because those are elite talents. Radulov had top line talent but wasn't the same level as Malkin, Kovalchuk or Ovechkin. If this guy actually is, it would be a crime to pass on him because of Radulov.

How many current elite forwards have played in the AHL before the NHL?
