well, not sure wtf happened but they were kicked out of the PHL due to not paying players, so might as well be bankrupt i guess

obviously the owner has the money, so something sounds shady about this. something sounds...very ukrainian.

klymentiev interview

Quote:
Does the prospect of the team with the current level of hockey in the country?
- In the situation that is happening in Ukraine now, I do not see any prospects. Executive Committee will be held on May 27, PHL, which will be decided whether the championship will take place next year. Many clubs do not fulfill contractual obligations to the players. Commands such as "Falcon", like not to pay for three or four months has been for several years. "Berkut", in which I played this season, has not paid for 4 months. Kharkov (Kharkiv "Dinamo" - edition) did not pay, Lvov (Lviv "Lions" - edition) did not pay. "Donbass", "White Leopard" and "Companion" - the three teams that have met their obligations. What's next, no one knows.

- you really plead with the "Falcon" about the arrears for the 2009-10 season? How long is the trial?
- Yes, a month and Igor Karpenko suing. The club gave us a receipt that must money. We are on the basis of these receipts submitted to the court. And the club has hired lawyers, they came with some payroll, saying the club we all paid. Everyone knows that the club did not pay the money the players a few years, but the "Falcon" has chosen such a position.

- Of the players just the two of you decided to sue?
- So far just me and Igor, but as far as I know, Dima Tolkunov also going to file a lawsuit. Simply, it is also not cheap. We found the money for a lawyer, and the rest ... We are determined to fight to the end. But we otsuzhivalis money only for season 09/10, and this year in January "Falcon" also does not pay the money, but even the boys club contracts on hand does not give out so they could go to court.

- How to motivate yourself in such a case show the result?
- Professional hockey player can not motivate myself. Everyone has family responsibilities. In the "Berkut" this year playing hockey players from Russia, USA, Canada, who lived in rented apartments. And we are in November stopped paying wages ... So what to do? As you can motivate yourself?

- "Berkut" has paid off for you for this season?
- No, not paid for 4 months. It was a shame that we tried to contact the management of the club, but no one picked up the phone.
Last week I got in touch with David Zhvania, our main sponsor, he promised to close the issue, to pay for June, July, August. Like, I can tell the guys. Let's see how people would keep his word.

- Is it true that you have decided to retire because of this state of hockey in Ukraine?
- Yes
, I see no reason to continue to play hockey professionally in our country. Especially since I already have age - 38 years.

Vinnytsia Patriot may sign Seliverstov, Mikhnov, and Bondarev.

Mikh and Bond would be good signings. I hope this isn't another bottom feeder, I really want to see some non-Kiev teams perform better, especially in the west where hockey isn't as developed

Berkut is out of the PHL, will still ice a hockey school / children's program

http://isport.ua/hockey/ukraine/news/258882.html
confirmed for next season: Sokil, Kompanion, Patriot, Haydamaks, White Leopards

Kharkiv and Lviv are holdouts, will know in a month; Ivano-Frankivsk is still undecided

Luhansk may get a team this year if not then next, arena will be ready in September. Sevastopol and Druzhkivka (Donetsk region) will also have new arenas due in September.

Season starts late September, teams must have 3 players under 23 and 2 under-20. All teams need to have a Ukrainian goalie (not sure if this means both, or the starter, or at least 1 has to be Ukrainian?)

Lviv ensured the participation in the Professional Hockey League next season.
Last season the team finished with huge debts to the players and employees of the club.
http://isport.ua/hockey/ukraine/news/259089.html
The article said that a team led by a qualified coach.
Meanwhile, the question of repayment of the debt does not go to the players. I wonder what the players and coaches will be available in the coming season?

that's a relief

love having a team in lviv, 2 in vinnytsia, and possible another in ivano-frankivsk. really want the game to grow in the west

semi-related, but forbes published growth of the middle class in ukraine and lviv and kyiv were the top 2 for growth of this class, which is obviously needed for hockey. donetsk was last.

More teams are good and different. Is it too much for the two teams Vinnitsa, where the city got rid of a single football team? About Patriot heard and heard who he becomes. A Haidamaks?

More teams is better, especially in different regions. The west has the concentration of amateur hockey while the east and kyiv have the pro or semi pro teams. Hopefully it just grows there. I think we only have one prospect from Lviv? And he's playing abroad

Hopefully it's not too much. Weird that they would do two after Haidamaky had to take a year off...where are they playing, same arena? Hopefully having 2 teams from the same city will create local interest; the flip side is spreading things too thin and both folding in a year due to lack of funds.

Any word on who is funding the teams? I know Haidamaky was funded by a Svoboda politician

League badly needs a new success story and soon, as by the looks of it, league right now looks in worse shape than two years ago when PHL was incepted.

Even on the official website of the Sokol is no information on the future team. Which players will be? Who will coach?

confused, need a translation

Quote:
In the foreseeable future, HC Donbass will be presented in the Ukrainian championship?

- In the championship of Ukraine HC Donbass in the next season will be presented to the club from the city Druzhkivka. This is all our satellite, consisting of our young players who have outgrown the young guard in age, but for various reasons do not fall into the first team. We are going to give them a chance to adapt to adult hockey, play in the Ukrainian championship. But, of course, they will have to fight for the gold. We can not afford to take a break in this fight for one year only, in connection with the creation of the Young Guard. (Smiles)

- How will the team be called? -

The team will be named HC Druzhkivka. Several sites have written that this village, but the village has more than Obukhiv and Ukrainian together. This - the city. City Engineering, agrarians. In addition, there are the fans. In the experience of the White Church, they will fill the stadium. Just in NKMZ (Novokramatorsky Engineering Works - approx. iSport.ua ) has plans to create a hockey club in Novokramatorsky, but there is no ice rink. We have solved the question of the construction of the arena
so they are making a new PHL team for over age players from Young Guard who aren't good enough for KHL? Isn't that what White Leopards are for?

Good idea. Keeping the PHL affiliate in Donetsk didn't make sense. For the players sake, I wish that they would create a VHL team for Ukrainians who aren't good enough for the KHL, but keeping their affiliate in the PHL will help Ukrainian hockey more by helping to stabilize the PHL.

he said they will loan a few players to beliy barsy this year, but next year they will have a team in Druzhkovka, which will be populated by players graduating from MHL by age and not making the KHL team.

Full ass. If before the team were removed from the tournament during the season, but now do not even start the season. Vinnitsa Patriot ceased to exist. The team has not had time to play his first match after the revival.
