Do you guys think he can fit in our 3rd line ? Bonk really don't do the job at that place and we need someone to take his place and reput Bonk on last line .

Perezhogin-Grabovsky-Johnson

Can be a good line IMO . They can all skate fast and take care in they're zone .

It will be later during the year but it might come down to a Grabovski-Chipchura showdown. May the best man win.

I would use Johnson as a center with Kostitsyn as RW.

The Bonk line was the Canadiens best line tonight. Perezhogin was a buzz zaw Johnson and Bonk also played very well!

And then Bonk played a solid 3rd period and we will not talk about this from now on....

I don't think he was plain solid for both games, but was really into it end of 2nd and all the 3rd period tonight. He's really beginning to find some speed he lost with his injury last year.

We have to be careful when criticizing players especially when they're hurt. Bonk and Ryder were definately hurt last year and it shows that they're good to go now....

Yeah what the hell, they were easily the most consistently dangerous line and I felt Perez had a great game especially. Boy I love that Johnson too!

Perez was definately the heart of that line though. He's not getting enough praise for his game tonight and how he made his teamates better and by doing that he raised his game to an interesting level.

Bonk has played well and why does a checking centre have to be on the 4th line? Grabovski has not even proved he can play in the NHL and yet you want to put him ahead of our top checking centre and give him more icetime too? Why does he deserve it over Bonk, a player who has had a career in the NHL already and has played well enough to stay where he is at in the line-up??

Let players/prospects earn there spots before giving them...this team is coached by a guy and assisted by two others who worked their a$$es off every shift, game, practice and off the ice...nothing will be given, all will be earned!

Agreed.

Bonk usually doesn't stick out because he plays a solid defensive game but tonight I really noticed him. He was very solid on offense.

No need for a new #3 center, we've got a good one already.

Bonk is a checking line center, Grabovsky is not, end of story.

One of the problems I have with Bonk's role as a shutdown center is that he is terrible in the faceoff circle. Your shutdown center should be able to win faceoffs in the defensive zone.

I don't mind having Bonk on the third line but I believe he will be playing elsewhere next season.....which is also fine with me.

Yes, he seems to not be great on faceoffs. Hopefully Muller will help him there, he was whicked on faceoffs.

and yes he won't be here next year. maybe not even after the trade deadline. If Chips is ready to make the jump by christmas, why should Gainey not trade Bonk(UFA next year) for a pick or something and use the pick and whatever and trade for whats needed for the playoff run?? this is a possibility...

Bonk is doing a decent job.. Not great not bad...

As for Grabovski, let him play in the minors and get used to the N.A. style of game..

The problem right now isn't Bonk but Plekanec who just doesn't have the talent to play on a second line...

Gainey is not going to load this team up with a bunch of rookies & second year players unless the veterans force him to by totally playing like crap.

Bonk is playing well enough to stay & unless he really craps out, nobody is replacing him this year, unless Gainey gets a great offer for him or we are out of the playoff picture at the deadline.

We need the veterans to win in March & April.

It's what the first week and people are whining about making changes already? Give it a few weeks, at least 10 games and then judge whether or not we need to pull some trades to strengthen the team up.

Bonk has been solid, last season he really started to show up again, not offensively as he has in the past but he brought another dimension to his game that helped us somewhat last season. He gets the job done, let it be already.

Grabovsky was apparently getting destroyed in the camp and his far from beign NHL ready, Kost is apparently miles ahead of him, and almost got a spot out of camp.

Kostitsyn is NOT miles ahead of Grabo unless you are talking about being ready physically. When they played on team Belarus at the WHC, Kosty was one of the guys while Grabo was front and center. Besides, Grabo has a lot more to show in terms of achivements to date than Kosty. For example, during the lockout season, with the RSL loaded with quality NHL talent, Grabo took his no-name team to the playoffs, beating some teams featuring NHL players and finishing top 15 in scoring. During the same year he nearly took Belarus to the Olympics, being named MVP of the tourny. There is no doubt that he needs to adapt to NA game and get a bit stronger, but we all saw what talented, quick little players like Brierre and Gionta can do in the new NHL. I can see Grabo centering our number 2 line once he is ready.
