I'd like to officially thank the Leafs for choking away Game 7.

And what about buying out/trading MAF... Sticking with Vokoun for a year... And then signing Lundqvist. Uffffff. I don't like the ideas that come to my head.

Pens defense still stinks

Didn't really sound like Hank had a lot of love for Torts.

From a B's fan, thanks for exposing the Pens in last year's playoffs. I'd bet my life that Claude and co. used your team's tapes as a reference point. I never cheered so hard for a non-bruin team as I did for you guys last year. Hopefully, you guys feel similarly.

The fat lady has yet to sing, but they still have been exposed as what they are.

I was thinking that so far it looks a lot like our series with them last year except that the Bruins actually play defense.

I know, it was meant as more of an alternative to what Jtown said. "Getting Torts from NY? How about getting Hank instead."

With that said, I don't see goaltending as much of an issue (just a cool replacement of MAF). As I said yesterday in the GDT on the main board, when someone suggested Pens calling up a goalie from the farm, I suggest calling up 6 Dmen.

Actually, nevermind. Keep up the good work, Pens

From what I've seen, Hank doesn't really respect Crosby much, or the Pens style of play, and Torts obviously doesn't. Wouldn't be surprised if the Pens gave both a call and both declined.

Haha, this made me really happy. If Torts just went to the media saying "who the **** do they think I am, to work with these clowns..."

Per today's blog post by Meltzer...we will continue to have the same problem as Pitt with tight checking teams as long as Lavi is promoting the same thing.

No love lost for Pitt and Bylsma tho..

Quote:
Just as happened to the 2011 Flyers, Pittsburgh has no defensive answers for the line of David Krejci, Nathan Horton and Milan Lucic. Pittsburgh's overreliance on stretch passes and aggressive puck pursuit has been turned against them, creating transitional chances galore. The goaltending has been pedestrian (and made to look worse by porous defense and good shooting).

Against any other team, a win like this would have had me channel-surfing right at the fifth goal to open the third. With Pittsburgh, I was cheering enthusiastically for every one that went in.

Game 1 had a vibe of last year's Pittsburgh meltdown, and the between-whistle histrionics. But Boston took it to another level with a (mostly) dispassionate dissection job last night. I thought Boston would up the physical ante, and the Penguins had many more big hits, but they just methodically played airtight defense, created turnovers and cashed in on their opportunities.

And getting great goaltending by Rask certainly helped. However, the Pitt chances were minimal at best. Also commented on by the moribund commentators were the crisp, precise passes the Bruins used to exit their end at ease. That's the tape I'd like Laviolette to put on continuous loop in his sit-downs with the Flyers for next season. Boston made very few mistakes in their own end and even when they did, they made up for them almost immediately.

Now that would be a thing of beauty if that happened. See GMs give their left nut to get Crosby on their team.

They're doing it wrong if they're not buying out Fleury.

Hope you guys are enjoying this as much as I am!!

Sorry the Isles let you down but they helped expose the weaknesses.

I feel like my team is winning!

Visors will be grandfathered in. Hybrid icing tested in NHL preseason. Shallower nets to be used next season. All subject to board approval

That stupid instigating with a visor rule will be gone next year. It will now just be 2 minutes for instigator no matter if you wear a visor or not, no additional 2 for the visor.

It probably has to do with the implied "old fashioned", still dumb.

Honestly it's pretty clever and funny than it is offensive. Any person that enjoys Billy Madison and hates Pierre/Pens will enjoy that.

They were in trouble with or without him. They're just not a good team offensively to begin with.

Chicago's one of the better balanced teams in the league. It was honestly a bad match up for them from the start. Chicago can match their defense and are more offensive than the Kings.

I honestly get the sense Richards will be out for the series.
