Why isn't Brian Boyle in the poll? He is one of the most knowledgable posters here, and definitely belongs on that list over several of the names there....

We all have strong opinions on here, and it's hard to play nice all the time. I called out a few newbie posters in the last year, had a few heated PM's then decided to talk it out, now we are friends and discuss things like adults.

But you know dagoon I will always hold you to a higher standard as one of the old timers round here. And I always like your take on things, and you definitely love hockey.

But my 'knowledge', if thats what ya call it, comes from all the playing, the interest and studying of anything hockey while I was growing up. Before the internet there was Hockey Digest. My letter to the editor was published in the first issue of the 93'94 season, they picked the Icelanders to win the division and I strongly disagreed, saying the Rangers were the tops and would beat Detroit in 7 games in the Cup Finals. My first article for HF was about an expansion ECHL team. You really love hockey when you go out of your way to write about the ECHL

That's who I voted for this year. I think he's been solid, even though I don't agree with all of what he's said, he's been here to back it up with some good rationale.

SBOB is in my hall of fame, can do no wrong.

Hated would be too long a list and we'd all vote for 'the other guy' instead of who we really hate, why give them the attention they crave

You do post the best draft preview of anybody either professional or random poster.

SBOB is a first ballot Hall of Famer....A lot of posters could go into the "virtual" Hall of Fame on this board.

We had a nominations thread. BB himself tabulated the nomination totals and then ran this poll.

Thanks, I do my HW when it comes to the draft. Pre internet there was really no way to see all the players in the draft back then unless you lived in Canada. Materials were hard to find too, that's why the Hockey News Draft preview was like a bible back then. Nowadays, I can at least see video from the most obscure prospects if I can't see them live.

One day someone will make a comprehensive list of the all time greats around here.

SOS, you are a really good poster, seen you get better over the years, definitely a candidate for most improved.

All nominees good.
Serious honorable mention to Jonathan, Bluenote 13.

I had to go with Rangerboy.
He comes up with stuff on everything, everybody.

Like the FBI/CIA etc all work directly for him.
Like a recent post. Brierre could be interested in NYR/NJD cause of family.

Ok, that was kinda known if you were paying attention,

Then there was something like, the wife divorced + got the kids.
So this is the kind of embellishment that tells you,
NO, REALLY,
it HAS TO BE CLOSE to home.

But were does he get this stuff from?
Amazing.

Most insightful, one of them for sure. More competition there.

But most knowledgeable, yeah, AIAEC.

Please CM, don't be a rank amateur about this.

Whether or not I earned it or not,
too many people will ignore that I was right about
trading Girardi + early (now also vets for cap)
Kreider from early on [now that Torts is buh bye, I can't want to see him take off]
Richards had to go regardless of performance due to cap recovery
Miller good enough to play here last year [not that he didn't need more seasoning, but could physically play here]
that Torts should go...

but enough about me...

You're too much of a nice guy for this.
We all know haters gonna hate, regardless.
You should just let me carry that albatross on my back, until my track record is far enough that they'll have to let go.

Of course, my Achilles heel will always remain Tysen Dowzak

That being said, this is a group of deserving candidates whose contributions to this boards are immense.

Great names, all of them.

Laches ! Whatever happened to you man??

Fletch is missed on a daily basis. If I had the means I'd pay him to write on HF after every game, he always seemed to have a good idea on what was going on, plus he knew a good deal of Ranger history/personnel. Perennial winner of the 'Fans fan' award.

SOTI ? Park #2 ? smashley ?

As a longtime lurker here, even before I finally created an account, these names are all blasts from the past.
I remember SOTI, must have had some very well placed sources in the organization. Always had legit info on trade rumors, etc. Made trade deadlines very entertaining.

I find your posts hilariously entertaining.
Neither you or CM should be on the hated list.
Come to think of it, i can't think of any name that should be on that list, but i am relatively new

I haven't gotten to see many guys actually present their knowledge because I'm too knew(...wait too kn....oh jesus christ I need to start sleeping more wtf) but I've consistently seen BRB and RB around here. I had a huge tiff with john over my presentation of my opinion of BR but I've seen him in many other threads clearly knowing more than most could even read. Singn seems like he's too disenfranchised w/ the team/HF to post much but you can tell he knows a lot while saying very little which counts for a lot.

BN has Hank for his avatar ( b/c really it doesn't get any smarter than that)

RangerBoy, Bluenote13, Blueshirt Believer (always enjoy his take, keeps it short and sweet, and points out deficiencies in our system that anyone can understand, always look for his posts in the GDT's.

We are lucky to have these guys with us here on HFNYR, you guys are the reason I still come on, even after the season is over. You're all savages!
