Completely forgot about him.

He was a good player. Still is with the A's. Only 4 walks against in 70.1 innings.

Wasn't Bartolo suspended last year while on the A's as well?

The MLBPA would throw an absolute fit, and rightly so. There's an agreed upon punishment for violation of the substance abuse/drug testing policy, and that's to suspend the player. If a club moves to void an entire contract? It's hard for me to believe that would be a winning tactic to sell to an arbitrator.

He is mega-rich, but isn't he still owed like $115 million? Even if he hangs around for another year (after the suspension), he's going to snag another $25 million or something. His reputation is already mud. He's in it for the cash at this point.

Yanks need Granderson back so one of Ichiro/Wells can take a seat on the bench, good thing they are signed through next year.

Yep Granderson's 3 strikeouts a game is really gonna put a jolt in this offense.

Granderson has to be the most frustrating player to watch, but he does make this team better. Would still rather trade him for top prospects and use the money to re-sign Cano/Gardner. Flip the prospects in trade for Chase Headley hopefully. Get a more complete outfielder to replace Ichiro and keep Wells in platoon roll I guess with Ichiro.

I gotta say though, I don't get the obsession with Chase Headley. He's never hit .300, he's never had a .400 OBP, he doesn't steal many bases, strikes out 130 times like clockwork. Seems like another meathead that either hits a homerun or does nothing.

Pretty much the truly elite players have .400 OBP. His splits at Petco vs. Away Stadiums are drastically different.

A move out of Petco could help him but I still think what the Yankees is a perennial .300 hitter that doesn't strike out much. That's what Cano is supposed to be but he's falling in love with the long ball more and more very year.

I'd sure love to add another Cano into the lineup.

Also look at Headley's road split, .295 BA on road, splitting hairs? I think he is a good contact, power hitter providing excellent defense at 3B. Pretty much what this team needs imo.

Yea missing his 40 homers this year is really awesome. It is so much fun watching Ichiro ground out to 2nd every at bat.

It was a nice April for Vernon Wells, but he is back to his good old self. It would also help if Cano figured out how to hit lhp again before they give him a huge contract. 239 last year, 208 this year.

Also should call up one of the AAA of's, they are playing with 3 of's not including Overbay who should never start a game in rf on the road. David Adams should be sent down, has played 1 of 6 games on the trip, and hasn't hit a lick in forever.

I'd love to add another of what Cano usually is. What Cano has been this year should be eliminated with fire.

The whole culture of this team needs to move away from the Grandersons of the world. I've had it with exchanging 40 homeruns for a .230 average, a million strikeouts, and piss poor postseasons. Winning requires real hitters, not one-dimensional hammer-swingers.

Sure, but talking about this year alone, Granderson isn't going anywhere, I would gladly take the 230 40 homers to get one of Wells/Ichiro out of this lineup.
