Why in the **** would anyone want Kipper or Theodore? I wouldn't even want Smith.

I think it's almost sure they will roll with Schneider in net next year as their starter. They don't need a starter, and most likely will go with Lack as a backup.

Tampa Bay doesn't make sense with the trades for both young goalies. Are they going to trade one right after getting them? I think they roll with that tandem down there.

Well, I assume they're a factor because of the Luongo thing. Otherwise it doesn't make sense to me to mention Washington and Buffalo. In both cases they have their starter, and if anything are likely to be dealing someone. I figure Vancouver is in the same boat.

I'm surprised St. Louis is included in this list. Their only decision is keep Halak as 1/2 with Elliott or to bring Allen in and deal the reportedly disgruntled Halak.

Kiprusoff is either Flames or retired.

Washington (Neuvirth), Vancouver (Luongo), St. Louis (Halak), & Buffalo (Miller) don't really need to find a #1 goalie, they need to move some goalies if anything some of them just happen to be #1's.

I am hoping St Louis takes a run at Miller.

It poses two theories of mine though

1)They won't have as much money to spend on the rest of their team. Miller's cap hit is 2 million more than Halak. Also Halak supposedly wasn't happy with playing time in the playoffs and got into a tif with Hitch. There is some speculation they will try to trade him. I would move Elliot first though, he had one really good season, and everything else is pretty poor or actually bad. 2 million may not seem all that much, but when the team rarely spends to the limit, it might mean the difference between a 3rd liner or a rookie.

2) It would mean though they are willing to spend at all costs to make a competitive team, which hurts my dream of Pietrangelo playing in black and white.

Luongo after a buy out?

I think Halak is interesting.

They would be better off finding a good reliable guy like that, who can provide steady goaltending, and buy out Bryz and Briere.

If they have decided to buyout Bryz AFTER next year, might as well do him a favour and get it over with.

I am in a minority of liking Bryz, but if we could sign Streit, add a fast winger like Mason Raymond or Victor Stalberg for the 2nd line, keep Gagne for the third line, and add a goalie like Halak, Emery, Backstrom, etc. it might put us in a better position long term.

Lots of thoughts in Homer's head, I'm sure.

Can't wait to figure out what he has planned.

Bring back Leighton to backup Mason?

Luongo(assuming he gets bought-out) and Thomas would be my top choices to replace Bryz if he was to get bought-out this summer.

Basically. Couts does so much heavy lifting his nickname should be Atlas. Which forward is shouldering that Corsi QoC should he be traded?

That's why he's been replaced the last two years in the playoffs.

I don't think he warranted a benching this playoffs. He was pretty decent posting .915SV%.

I think they went back to Schneider because he's supposed to be the #1 and to try to spark the team but it didn't really matter as they were overmatched by San Jose.

Vancouver has handled the Luongo situation poorly

What? You think having a player stand at a press conference to apologize for his contract and that he can't be traded isn't supportive? Sheesh, in what kind of nanny state did you grow up?

Vancouver could have easily moved him if they werent expecting a real good return for him

Toronto had an offer on the table for him, but apparently it wasn't good enough.

Luongo >> Bryzgalov. That's all that I really have to say on the matter. I wouldn't take Luongo's contract (or Bryz's for that matter) but if he was bought out I'd give Luongo a shot. Thomas, Emery, Smith, Halak, Bernier or Miller could be other options and I'd honestly rather take a shot at Thomas or Emery since they won't cost any actual assets.

I really think the Flyers should amnesty Bryz this offseason. They'll actually save money if they do it now vs. doing it next season. This season would be $23mil over 14 years, while a buyout next offseason would be $17mil over 12 years PLUS the $8mil he would make in 2013-14. Only $2mil more, but still. I guess they could pay an extra $2mil to at least give him another shot, but the cap and salary space would be really nice especially if they're trying to trade for and sign some players.

He was playing like he wanted a Vezina at the start though. He really didn't make it easy on them in that respect. I can understand why they didn't trade him at the time.

I think he's handled the situation really well and been a man about it. I als think his play off history is stronger than most people give him credit for. THe narrative of him self destructing gets forced. He's been good but not amazing overall.

I'm pretty sure he's talking about Bryzgalov not Luongo.

Luongo's career save percentage in the playoffs is .916 not great but not terrible. His regular season is .919 for a comparison.

Vancouver Fans can't wait to ship out Raymaond...... I guess they have lots of young talent in the pipeline!

Haven't seen him much in the last year, but before Raymond looked like a pretty good player. I guess the pro scouts would have a better understanding of his value than fans. And we just kind of signed his clone, in Raffl.

We really only have a couple spots potentially open, and some good competition for them. Stalberg is an interesting player - big, fast, skilled and hits a bit. He's younger than Zubrus so if it took a longer deal to get him, that's OK. Bickell will be off limits now.
