Fantasy question: Nieuwendyk or Stumpel

Hey guys.

I need to make a pick up next week in my hockey pool and I have narrowed down to two guys. I can't decided which one to pick up, and thought that you guys were probablely the best people to ask.

So if you had to pick up one of the two (no need to take injury proneness/long term stuff into consideration), who would you take

Joe Nieuwendyk or Josef Stumpel???

Thanks for your opinions in advance!

Nieuwendyk was our second leading scorer last year and lead the team in faceoff wins. He's been looking very good this year with Bertuzzi and Olesz on his line. I would take Joe but I am biased.

You can expect around the same output from both of them. They will both get a real opportunity to put up numbers with one playing alongside Olli and the other playing alongside Bert. I'd go with Stumpel factoring injuries.

Thanks for your input guys.

I think I'm going to put my bid on Joe with a secondary bid (if first bid isn't successful) on Stumpel.

Thanks again.

Really depends on what particular stats you are looking for. I run a 13 offensive stat league (Coolburn can atest to how deep my league is) with most of 600 players taken. If you're lookin for assists, power play points and faceoffs won, I'd go with Nieuwy. If you're lookin for straighht up points, I'd go with Stumpel playin the top line.
