It's just the same story as last year for the Dragons, nothing was going to change because they didn't bring anyone to change it.

Now they have to resort to chasing Dugan the made of glass problem child and trying to get Beale from union because he's burning all his bridges also.

Triple post but went and watched the Cowboys training today in Auckland, met Thurston and got his autograph, partner got a photo with him. Great day for me, my favourite player.

Tigers gave Storm boys a scare tonight. Played excellent 60 minutes but just couldn't keep it up.

I wish Steve Matai hadn't declared for Samoa, i'm having nightmares about a potential SKD/Mannering centre pairing at the world cup for the Kiwis.

Ah true, I knew I was forgetting someone. Benji and the tigers are in real strife at the moment, there's whispers that Penrith might offer him a deal, but it seems Penrith are linked to every player these days because of Gus.

Adam Blair is an absolute disgrace at the moment, how many times in NRL history would a forward have more missed tackles than hit ups made during a game? And he played over 70 minutes, smh. The guy's clocked off ever since he joined the tigers.

Blair has been a joke for a long time now.

Funny how many people in New Zealand think he should still be in the Kiwis

Blair benefitted from playing under Bellamy's systems at the Storm - once he left them it showed that he isnt very good at a less structured game plan

And to think that the Tigers released Fifita and Gibbs to the Sharkies to fit Blair under the cap - looks like Fifita might get a look in for Origin this year. The Tigers could have really used him this season.

The English Premiership final today was excellent. Some really nice running rugby and nice tries. Northampton kicked it out on the full from a drop-out at half time resulting in a scrum, the captain Hartley protested and was sent off after the ref had already warned him a few minutes before. That was the turning point of the game pretty much.

Excellent game. Luke Lewis was a monster. Bird was fantastic. QLD looked sluggish in first 60-odd minutes but finished up well. They'll come out firing at Suncorp.

Queensland forward pack simply not up to taking the NSW forward pack on.

They need Hannant back and could have done with Lillyman or even McGuire in there.

Loved Gallen belting the crap out of Myles, well deserved. Great that the ref could just put it on report and award a penalty too, this is Origin.

Hannant will be back , and if Dave Taylor's form at the Titans keeps up in the next 2 games, I think they go with him on the bench. Queensland need more size. - they had a poorly constructed bench with 4 backrowers. Harrison , Parker and Teo essentially play the same type of game

I don't know why you say that about Myles. He is a real hard bugger, tough as teak. Gallen should have been binned or sent. That is a send off offence any day, and means that if game 2 or 3 turn ugly and punchy, no one can be sent. The refs have to be consistent

But the NRL refs don't send people off anymore (just ask Greg Inglis)

Well done to the Blues - they deserved the win. Queensland to win the next 2 though!!

Dave Taylor hasn't done jack a lot of the year, turned it on recently but would have to maintain it to get Meninga on side.

because Myles is one of the dirtiest blokes in the game and everyone knows it. He is a hard, tough bloke no doubt, he's also a complete grub who intentionally headbutts people when he tackles, go look on youtube there's a nice compilation video of him doing it. Wiped Farah out in Origin last year doing it as well. Only the most passionately one eyed Queenslander wouldn't be able to see that Myles as good as he is, is a complete piece of ****.

No way it should of been a send off, this is Origin, there was a Union game on at the same time for those who aren't up for it. Good on the refs for not letting the softening of Origin continue. Queensland got a penalty, Gallen pays his price by getting suspended for a week, problem solved.

If you want to crack down on people having a fight and send them off, what are you going to do about the fact that half the tackles in Origin could be awarded a penalty in a club game? almost every tackle Inglis made last night was him trying to choke somebody out lol.

With all due respect, that was not a fight. One guy had his arms by his side, the other guy puts 2 on his chin - that's a cheap shot in anyones language. Of course there should be some latitude for an Origin game - that's fine. What Gallen did was way beyond that

Gallen should have at least been sat for 10 - read what Bill Harrigan said in today's paper.
Just because Myles plays a certain way doesn't mean that different rules apply. Gallen is the same type of player as Myles, tough, hard , uncomprising and sometimes dirty - it doesn't mean its okay to cheap shot Gallen.

Why would I care what Bill Harrigan has to say about it?

Myles deserved what he got for being a massive grub, he plays like a dirty piece of **** and someone stood up to him and did something about it. Myles cheap shots everyone play like that long enough and somebody is going to get fed up.

Let the tears flow though Queensland fans, good on Myles for conceding that it's all part of Origin, that it should be left on the field and that he didn't even want Gallen to be suspended. He knows what he signs up for when he plays the way he does. Funny it takes the bloke actually involved to put that out there while the Queensland fans whine about it.

Hopefully one of the NSW blokes hands out another belting in game 2 because the Queenslander's didn't do anything about it.

I don't really consider it a cheap shot. Myles has played plenty of origin in the past, if a NSW player shapes up to you, put your ****ing hands up. Queensland won't take the hype the fight is getting lying down, i'm fairly hopeful there'll be a large scale brawl inside the first ten minutes of game 2.

Also hilarious that Russell Packer took a leak on the field during the Warriors game, i've heard hilarious feral stories about him for a long time (a friend of mine saw him plowing through a bowl of potato salad, drunk, with his bare hands at a social gathering)

That's what happens when you grow up in Foxton, The Fox Town!!!

Hayne out is a huge blow for NSW game 2 if he can't play.

If they lose both him AND Farah for game 2 then they are stuffed.
