Im sure that answer was better to make public than the real answer which was "Suter isnt willing to talk to me right now"

I don't feel like Nashville will be making many moves and will mainly stay in-house.

There will definitely be another defenseman coming in. I know the forward injuries were a big deal this season, but you can't finish 4th worst in the league and not address your second pairing that was an obvious issue all season.

Also, the forwards will see plenty of Forsberg and Barkov (or another pick). Getting healthy and integrating those two kids will be the change up front, so yes the defense will be the area that Poile will focus on in free agency and/or trade.

I kinda think he needs to find replacement for erat. Maybe ribeiro or Horton. And a defenseman for sure.

Josi played 23 minutes a night this year and was just named the MVP of the World Championships... why is he on the third pairing? I mean, why? WHY? And with Bartley? Behind a defenseman with three games of NHL experience? I'm flabbergasted. Just flabbergasted. My flabber is gasted.

can someone tell me when the window for compliance buyouts will be? because UFA season will be a lot different if the compliance buyouts will have to occur before or wait until after the regular UFA signing period begins

and will there be a different window for regular buyouts that will still count against the cap hit.

I could definitely see Poile trolling for a somewhat skilled player who isnt living up to a monster contract elsewhere but who would maybe have a chance to play on a higher line or d pair than they are right now.

Brad Richards out of NYR could be that player, if rumors are true.

Starting the latter of June 15 or 48 hours after the final Stanley Cup Final

While the compliance buyout will not count toward the salary cap next year player will be paid 1/3 or 2/3 of the contract amount according to there age. Additionally a player may not be bought out and later resigned by that team. The example give was Philly and Briere he could be bought out but they could not resign him at a lower salary thus only lowering there cap but the player making the same amount of money.

We need to stay away from him for sure, it's like SK at a higher price. He's play didn't drop this year, it fell off a cliff.

For the right price, on a one year deal, I'm not opposed to it. But I agree we can't overpay.

Yeah, at a much cheaper price he'd be worth it on a short term contract, I just would not risk trading for that contract.

I'd rather throw Beck on that third line. Wilson needs to eat minutes next season or his growth is going to be hindered.

That lineup will ensure us a top 5 draft pick next year ... we need to get bigger (along with production) through the forward ranks ... yes I'm talking about Nathan Horton

I don't think we have a size issue anymore. The majority of our forwards are 6'1" or taller and over 200 lbs. And any blueline with Weber and Gill are covered as far as size goes, and if Ekholm makes it, Weber actually moves to 3rd tallest blueliner

Now do they play physical? Not enough for my liking but size isn't an issue.

In my opinion 3 top UFA's we should consider are

1) Dupuis
2) filppula
3) clitsome

Horton may have some size on him, but he actually plays pretty soft. I personally think whoever lands him is going to regret that contract in a couple years.

Is it legal for DP to approach Josi to suggest he speak to Streit about coming here before the start of FA?
