That maybe true. Can Habs contain Flyers offense? Giving up 2 goals and 38 shots against Leafs. Makes me wonder. Should be a good game.

I say 5-3 Habs

for habs:
Higgins, Samsonov, Sourray, Plekanec, Jonson

for Phi:
Gagné, Knuble,Forsberg

The Plek, Sammy, Kovy line is due to have a big game like the one against the sens in pre-season.

The Leafs certainly showed the rest of the league the recipe for success against the Canadiens. Play a neutral zone trap to stifle the Habs speed, cycle down low and pressure/overload Souray's side of the ice, and most importantly, meet the Habs a night after they skate their collective guts out against the Sabres.

If the Flyers can slow down the rested Canadiens, it could be a long night for Montréal. If the Habs use their speed and get the 2nd line going it could be a long night for Philly.

5-4 Philly. I just don't have a good feeling about Abby tonight for some reason. Not saying he shouldn't start I just don't have a good feeling...he deserves the start

Should be a good tilt, both teams seem to have the same strengths and weaknesses (good firepower up front and a few D that can be exposed).

I have a good feeling about tonight. I'm excited to watch a couple of things unfold this year. One in particular is the goalie tandom of Huet and Abby.

Abby could have (I believe he is going to have) a very good year. He becomes UFA at season's end and he wants to be and believes he is a legit #1 goalie. He has a lot to prove and it becomes a win win situation for the Habs.

I liked what I saw from him in Toronto - he really battled and made key stops at key times in the game. I look for a very solid effort from him tonight and I think the team will come out flying tonight. This is now a Carbo/Muller team - I can't see many games this year where they are unprepared or come out flat. They'll compete hard night-to-night.

I'm going to say 4-2 Habs

Looking for a good second-line game. Goals from Kovalev, Samsanov, Higgins and Ryder.

Go Habs Go

Latendresse will get his first goal tonight. 1-1-1 is not a bad start. Buffalo,Toronto and phillie are noy easy places to win especialy when you play back to back to back games in those city. If we pull out a win all be pleasently surprise with this road trip especialy if you consider the fact that are second line has done nothing so far. 5 points on a posibility of 6 points would be great and be a huge bonus to start the season.

I had a great feeling against the Sabres, we lost, had a not-so great feeling against the Leafs, we won, and today I have a very good feeling.....

But I would say that I feel a 6-4 win, with Niniimaa's first point as a Habs and Lats first goal as well!!!!

Philadelphia always loses to Montreal on TSN. But that was before the departure of the Philly-killer Bulis.

The Flyers are playing well though, all the way through the lineup (time to get those pre-conceived ideas about Gauthier, Hatcher and Nedved outta your heads, they're playing well). The only question for them is how is Niittymaki's injured hip going to hold up playing back to back games.

Good luck tonight!

Philly's flat footed D will be mesmerized by the speed of the Habs and we will win a 5 - 2 contest.

First line comes up big once again, but the other lines play well too and contribute.

I'm completaly STUNNED that it took 35 posts before someone talked about "the next sensation".... Ti-GUY Latendresse

Everybody was hoping for a "Kopitar" kinda start, but hey, the season is still young.

Nobody expected a Kopitar kinda start, especially when knowing that Lats is playing on the 4th, Kopitar is playing on the 1st and some PP time as well. Obviously some people thought he would've scored 25 goals, which was plain dumb, the same people thinking that a good preseason automatically reflects on the real season. But, fortunately we're not the only ones, for a couple of games there Suglobov was suppose to become the next Mogilny as well......

56% of the fanbase thinks he will get between 26 and 40 points this season. Nobody said he would ran up the score and fight for the calder. Unless the people you talked to are in that 2% delusional fans that think he will get 70+pts ( including a Leafs fan trolling )

Go Habs! My predictions.

-I say a 4-3 Habs win. GWG by Ryder.

-Forsberg dives 3 times.

-Hatcher slashes and/or crosschecks 9 times, but gets called on only 2 of them.

-Begin blocks 3 shots.

Question about Plekanec. Is he good enough to be 2nd line center?

Is he better then Richards, Carter, Umberger, Robi or Nedved?

Plekanec is an excellent two way player, great speed, decent hands who has no problems playing in traffic. He's definitely outclassed in the talent department by his line-mates (and most of the centres you listed). He's probably punching above his weightclass on the 2nd line (IMO he's more 3rd line material - although many will disagree with me on this point). On the plus side he's a smart enough player to eventually gel with Kovalav and Samsonov, even if they don't make the required adjustments.

Anyone saw the Downey interview on RDS? It gives you an idea why this guy was kept with the team. I don't remember the exact details of the interview. Basically, he told the reporter he was pumped about the game, he will always be ready to play, that the Habs don't need crybabies who moan and keep their head down when benched by the coach. Great attitude Downey! I'm curious to see his performance tonight, there was an article during training camp mentioning that he lost 10-15 pounds in order to be faster! Hey, we need a dancing potato like this banana
