SI.Com Power rankings

I'm always confused with how they come up with their rankings. Oh well, here's the link: http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/200...gs2/index.html

Anyway it's way too early for power rankings.

They didn't drop; they moved up two spots.

The idea is that if two teams played today, the one with the higher ranking would win a best of 7 series. That's pretty much what power rankings are. The Habs started pretty low, and probably reasonably due to the lack of momentum from the preseason, but they should keep moving up.

Also, SI.com's power rankings are much more "sticky" than most others, so teams generally don't move up many slots in one week unless they handily beat a much higher team. Notice that only one or two teams moved more than 3 spots.

Habs at 20th is little low, they should make the better half considering they got OT point from the top team in these rankings. I see couple teams overrated in those rankings - Nashville hanging there at 7th place and Hurricanes at 13th seems a bit much right now.

foxsports.com has us at 9th. Which I think is fair considering how well the team has played so far.

Foxsport's power rankings is based primarily on points/games ratio. With 3 points out of four, it was inevitable the Habs would look good on it.

All these rantkings are bogus. I mean they have Ottawa that got beat pretty bad and only dropped like 3 places? In the end, the only rankings that count are the playoff rankings.

I really don't see how Colorado is ranked so high as well.

But they are still early and we've only played 2 games, so it's still very early

TSN Analysts don't think MTL or TOR will make the playoffs. Analysts are biased and know **** all. MTL is for sure making the play offs, I even think TO may fight and make it into 8th no problem.

Boston won't make it, mark my words.

The only ranking that matters is this one:
