As for trading him, if we could get anything for Booth we should jump on it before he skates down the middle with his head down and ends up missing next years playoffs.
You probably said the same when Bieksa was oft injured.

was? He still is oft injured he was playing hurt this year missing games and practices through the year, hes average sized but plays a rough game that wears on him, like kesler I doubt he ever strings together more than a 100 games without being injured(saying 100 because even if they get through a season, there's no way they get through a run without being injured.)

It's the reason he missed some games, and wasn't participating in team practices.

Well don't worry this Canucks team will be healthy start of the 2013-2014 season. Unless they screw up in a workout like Booth did and yeah.

You missed the point.

Heaps of people said Juice was done, trade him for nothing, etc. when he was actually oft injured. He's clearly not done, neither is Booth necessarily, is the point.

In my experience between 23 -----> 28 you do "fill out" especially the chest, however I have never trained like a pro athlete so it probably counts for nothing.

He was likely not getting bought out even if he was healthy anyways, so I don't see the big deal.

Probably just an attempt from his agent to stop people being such a D bag to him about the buy out...

Wish teams would stop being so secretive about injuries, particularly a season ending one like this one.

Isn't a broken ankle an easier injury to recover from than ligament damage suffered from a high ankle sprain?

i mean if he suffered a broken ankle because it twisted in a way that tears the ligaments but now the bone is also broken then no

if he blocked a shot, then yeah, probably?

Well, with an injury like that you have to think there's a reasonable possibility that he won't be ready for the start of the season. According to this:

Quote:
Because there is such a wide range of injuries, there is also a wide range of how people heal after their injury.

It takes at least 6 weeks for the broken bones to heal. It may take longer for the involved ligaments and tendons to heal.

As mentioned above, your doctor will most likely monitor the bone healing with repeated x-rays. This is typically done more often during the first 6 weeks if surgery is not chosen.

Although most people return to normal daily activities, except for sports, within 3 to 4 months, studies have shown that people can still be recovering up to 2 years after their ankle fractures. It may take several months for you to stop limping while you walk, and before you can return to sports at your previous competitive level. Most people return to driving within 9 to 12 weeks from the time they were injured.
http://orthoinfo.aaos.org/topic.cfm?topic=a00391

Considering word was he was just having his cast removed recently, I imagine he's got at least a few months of rehab ahead. Maybe the Canucks will ride the LTIR train once again this season?

So he won't be back in time for next season? My patience is growing thin.

Assuming that it's a break instead of a ligament tear, of course. The way it looked though, wouldn't be surprised if it was actually both. Nasty injury for Booth.

Mine too. I like Booth, and he's been unfortunate with injuries, but the Canucks can't wait forever for him to make a potential impact.

Luckily it is 100% fan speculation that he will not start the season, and the effects of this injury will be lasting.
