Since I was only 5, I don't remember all that stuff, but I still can remember that I started to like Roy from that moment... A weird thing is that now I really don't like him...

So many guys scored so many BIG goals that run.... it was magical... Damphousse and Muller were forever known as money players after this one....same with desjardins....and the biggest money player of them all Roy... Carbonneau and Benoit Brunet were solid on the checking line and scored some big goals... Savard provided inspiration....schneider was great on the pp with desjardins... bellows played his role well....lebeau was great, i was so sure he would become a star... and even gilbert dionne in his arrogance was a great benefit in winning it all... and who could forget the great john leclair and his unstoppable goals in the finals.

I remember loving Carbo and Damphousse especially, I had something vs Muller because he was what we got in return of Richer, and Richer was my favourite player at the time lol (I was kid)

I vote for Desjardins.
Kirk Frickin Muller without question... no doubt about it.

Obviously, Roy was key too but he already had himself solidified as a superstar.

Muller just poured every ounce of his heart in that run. What a player he was. Scored so many clutch goals and he didn't know how to lose a battle for the puck

My avatar. We didn't have the most skilled team on the ice at the time. They won that cup with heart and no one has a bigger heart the Muller. With all the face-offs he won and clutch goals he scored (including the winner in game 5) they would have had a tough time winning that cup without him. Carbs, Roy and Dejardins would be 2nd, 3rd and 4th respectively.

I always liked Stephan Lebeau. Slick skater, soft hands, put up career best numbers that year. 31 G, 49 A, 80 P. Ran into ankle problems shortly afterward and never came close to those numbers again (heck, he never got through a full NHL season again - went off to Switzerland a couple years later).

Muller with Carbo a close second.

Very original, I know.

Besides Roy?

Muller was one of my favourites at the time. I still can't believe we had John LeClair and gave him up... Dejardins against LA... too many to list.

It's funny though... after all these years I'll never forget DiPietro & Dionne... they seemed so great when I was 13... lol

:edit:

BENOIT BRUNET!!! Oh man I swear that guy had some of the best moves in hockey. I remember raving about him to people and nobody ever knew who I was talking about. I wish I had a video of this one time I remember him going coast to coast and scoring a pretty, pretty goal... heh too bad he couldn't do that consistently.

Damphousse.

I was 8, and that first year with the Habs made him my favorite player.

Racicot.

No, seriously, it's Carbonneau. I played goal as a youth, but when I played forward on occasion, I always envisioned myself as a player like Guy. It's still a shame he didn't play every game of his life as a Hab.

Carbo was & is the man.

Next in line: Muller, Keane & always liked Mario Roberge.

In any year whether we win the Cup or not Smirnoff's avatar is an ALL-STAR.
