Forsberg, Wilson too

Already have Forsberg, Wilson, and encouraging starts from Austin Watson and Taylor Beck as well.

I agree. But Forsberg is also there in the ranks and he has ability and Colin Wilson has legitimate first line potential. The next couple of drafts could make the Preds a force, IF (and it's a big if) Poile selects good offensive players.

WOW. What a deal by the Preds. Congrats are in order. Your GM is an early candidate for GM of the year. If Josi keeps his game up...blockbuster steal.

The AAV of 4 million is insanely friendly to the Predators. Josi is already very good, and is just going to keep getting better.
Yep, Preds did alright without Suter. Josi doesn't even have too much NHL experience but already cashes out on a huge contract. Good player.

Preds could use another top-four guy and that defense will be really good going into next season.

Seriously? Outscored Josi by 11 points last year, averaged 22 min a night in the playoffs?

Sure, two years older, but not too bad in comparables.

Great for the Preds, more teams need to do this.

I am flabbergasted at how amazing this deal is. I would have paid Josi 4mil for his play this past season. He is already that good. He easily has the potential to be a Ryan Suter level defenseman...and he's locked up for 7 years at 4mil??? Beautiful.

Josi apparently recruited Simon Moser from the Swiss team to come to camp for the Preds next season, and coupled with this deal, that goes to show how much he loves it here in Nashville. Nice change after the Weber and Suter debacles.

Good for Roman, great for Nashville.

I'm as familiar with Cody Franson as anyone, and I hated to see him traded over Jon Blum...but in terms of overall ability, it's just not close. Josi is the best defenseman at this age that I've seen since Weber-- better than Suter started out. Their upsides aren't really comparable.

Great deal. Josi is already worth 4 million a year, this will be one of the best deals in the league by year 3.

Only way this blows up on the Preds, is if Josi goes the way of Dipietro and amasses career ending injuries.

This will be the best contract in the NHL by far for years 3,4,5,6, and 7.

Josi is already a decent #2 Dman. He'll be a #1 Dman in 2 years.

Unreal contract. Wow.

Josi is better than Karlsson already? I find that hard to believe.

I didn't watch Karlsson firsthand. I'm just going based on who I've seen come through the Predators organization.

agreed. he hits ufa at age 27-28 and he's demanding a ton of money, especially since the cap very well may increase by then.

Great for Preds, could be one of the best contracts in NHL down the road.

Yeah....but they're the same age. One's a Norris winner and one's very good.
