I would find it pretty tough to regret a decision that made me 28 Million.

And that won't even be his biggest one.

Tremendous signing. Still gets a big contract at age 30 as well if he earns it.

Great for the Preds

I dont follow your logic...

he's locked in until 30... which is till pretty much "prime"...at which time he will either still be a stud and will sign a megabucks deal for another 7 or 8 years or else he will have been injured/not been as gooid as everyone thought in which case he will be very glad he took the 7 year deal and not less.

Surprised Josi took 7 years. A short contract followed by a long term contract would probably be significantly more financially rewarding.

Great deal for Predators, but if I were Josi I would have looked for a few less years.

unless he gets hurt or his game goes to hell.

he's too young to turn down this kind of money when things could still go wrong. Gotta take one sure fire big deal in case disaster happens. He will still be able to sign for huge money in 7 years if he keeps on developing.

Great news for the Preds, and a great contract for both sides. Ina few years Josi's contract could be one of the best in the NHL.

Yeah, I don't think we get Bogo locked down for 4 million, but I am just hoping for the 7 year part.

Josi is a very good player only getting better, who knows where those three line up in 5 or 6 years.

Anywho, still a great deal for the Preds.

Yeah, wouldn't want to be 30 and in your prime going into UFA.

Right now the price is about right, in a few years Josi is going to be kicking himself for this deal.

I hope the Wild can get Brodin on a similar contract in a couple years when his time comes to re-sign.

Amazing contract, great for the Preds.

I find it hilarious with these 'I can't imagine what Franson/Bogo/Shatty will get next contract', Josi is ridiculously underrated.

Nothing else to say; this is the best contract Nashville has ever signed. Better than Klein's sweetheart deal. I cannot believe he took seven years; so amped. I have never been higher on a player than I am on Josi; even higher than Wilson by a far margin.

There are a few players who knows how the salary cap works and would actually sacrifice a bit of money to make the playoffs and have a chance to win.

Top pairing defenseman for Nashville, Suter's replacement. Won MVP at the WCs while being a defenseman for the losing team. 2nd in TOI this past year for us.

Initially I was kind of skeptical about signing this guy for 7 years but Pred's fans seem to be thrilled so congratulations guys.
