Balmochnykh was a fairly highly-regarded prospect at one point - what in the world happened to him? He's not mentioned anywhere really as having a chance with the Devils.

I believe it was attitude problems with the ducks, although i'm not positive, so if someone can help out please do.

He didn't fair to well in the AHL after he was supposed to make the team, mulled around, had a few injuries and was sent back to Russia. I was surprised to see him traded by the ducks, i thought he'd finish out his career in Russia.

i've seen him play a few times this year, and he's still pretty good
he's feisty, but the alleged attitude problems seem to be a thing of the past.
he's been out quite a bit with different injuries, though, and him ever playing for the devils is definitely becoming doubtful at this point.

he just couldn't transfer his talent to North American ice when he played for the Ducks. Had the skills, lacked the drive and the desire to win.
