Gillis brought Shirokov over in the first place. Shirokov is also a guy that isn't much of a factor in the KHL even. Why would that be any different in the NHL. I don't understand the fascination with him.

There was a time when he was Bure's agent and he has also repaired Bure's relationship with the city and the club.

I sincerely hope that Mike Gillis makes some wholesale changes to the roster this summer. Thus far his record is not that great!!!

Given his prior trades that is a terrifying thought.

Hey guys. Can I go through every thread and post that Gillis sucks because I have no life and nobody is responding to me?

Everyone was laughing their ***** off before the season started when grabber was waived and the trade became Ballard for the 25th pick and bernier

Grabner had the flu during his Florida training camp. They tried to condition him in the AHL but Snow scooped him.

Grabner was sick during Panthers training camp. They thought they could get away with him going down for conditioning.

I wish we had Grabner still he would be good on the second line but Booth can use his power moves.

Wow. Revisionist over here:

Quote:
Grabner, 22, who came over from Vancouver with forward Steve Bernier for defenseman Keith Ballard, with the expectations of bolstering the offense, was unable to dent the net. Grabner possesses, “world-class,” speed according to coach Pete DeBoer, but didn’t show him the ability to finish players.

So was it that Grabner sucked or was it Fla made a mistake? If Grabner sucked, he wouldn't be in the NHL, but he made it, and he's actually contributing. Just because 2 NHL teams made a mistake, doesn't make it the right decision.

Sick or not, Grabner is fortunate that the Isles took a flier on him, because otherwise he was gone, and he knew it.

He would have probably ended up as seeming like one of those guys who can tear up a Euro league but not make it in the NHL. See Pavel Brendl.

Micheal Grabner has a 3.5 million dollar contract. He was an NHL player all along. 2 organizations made stupid mistakes on him

3.5AAV is tragic for a player like Grabner. We had two Grabners (Raymond and Hansen) this season making 650K more combined. So yeah.

That's some excellent reasoning though.

Look at this guy's cap hit, he must be great!

Too bad we couldn't scoop up Scott Gomez before he got bought out, he was 10 times the player in Montreal that he was in San Jose.

I believe the Isles were one of the first teams on the waiver priority list so there's probably a great chance that many other teams were interested and he probably would have gotten even more chance in the NHL/AHL had the Isles given up on him as well.
