He had an absolute great season and totally deserves this award. All this and he didn't even participate in the camp at the start of the year. A mini camp but still, very impressive the way he played this year

Congrats PK

It will be nice for Subban get a full season in next year, to see where his performance will be...should be interesting if he can match points with Superman over in Ottawa for a full season...we all know PK plays a far more complete d-man game, but Karli is definitely an offensive machine from the back end...( if he can even stay healthy )

So according to sens fans : "Quite easily the most undeserving Norris winner of all time but to be fair no dman really stuck out this year."

Overlords can you "moderate" in the polls section?

Omfg every time I go in the polls section or the main board, it seems there are only Sens fans. Maybe it's just me but I'm getting crazy.

A lot of them are crazier than coo-coo for Cocoa Puffs.

What's funny is our team (I know this situation is a bit biased) has gone further in the POs than their team has in the past 5 years.

Karlsson IMO, is just a slightly better Mike Green. Almost the same cuz they've both gotten serious injuries (Green had concussion(s) and Karlsson the Achilles) over their careers.

PK reminds me of a more physical Lidstrom, or like a Duncan Keith but better offensively.

There was no reason for him to make that statement. He could have said any number of positive things without saying that. Subban loves the city and the team. Will he play his whole career here? Nobody knows. Does it seem like he "may already have decided to continue his career elsewhere"? No. No, it really doesn't. I don't feel your post was as stupid as some others, but it definitely seems uninformed and out of the blue.

By the way, claiming that "may" is a qualifier and using it to validate your post is a bit of a cop out. You could say Subban may decide to retire at the age of 27 and go play golf. Sure, it is a possibility of SOME sort. Is it a realistic one? No. Based on what Subban has said throughout his time here, the likelihood of him leaving Montreal in 2 years due to the bridge contract is remote. It is more likely that he plays himself into a value where the Habs management foolishly decide they can not afford him before he actually decides to leave this city and team on his own.
If your point is that PK has more loyalty than other professional athletes,
I hope you are right. But I do not confuse the things I hope happen, with the
things that can happen.

And there is no "cop out" involved. I never suggested that it is the case.
But the opposite should not be assumed either. If I want to panic about the
possibility of losing our best player, I just will.

Ignoring the point of my post, and then attacking me for not reading
previous posts is also a bit unreasonable. But seeing as you feel you are
entitled to an explanation, I had intended to post the original in the
"Subban contract" thread. But having put it here by accident, I left it, because
it was somewhat relevant here as well.

Karlsson is king of a certain class of D-men. Green, Byfuglin, Yandle etc. Guys that are heavily involved in offensive plays by playing deep in the offensive zone, and are good enough all round to be not be a massive liablity.

Subban's results are more like a less dominant Lidstrom, or pretty much identical to Doughty. They don't get as many points because they aren't nearly so aggresive, but they boost their squads scoring tremendously. Which is why the ESP point thing is bogus. It does not line up closely with the effect on team offense when we are talking about defensemen.

Suter on the other hand, is a compiler. He gets lots of points because he plays big minutes, not so much that he's brilliant at driving offense in the minutes played.

Yes. This all makes a lot more sense now. Hence the 65% 2nd Assist stat i saw earlier.

If Subban can be a slightly less dominant Lidstrom,

Can everyone please change their avatar to a Subban picture. Preferrably doing something to annoy the rest of the league?

I heard the Pope was going to canonize Karlsson for his miracles.

1- win a norris as top defenceman (because according to sens fans offensive dmen aren't really capable of playing d)

2- returning from a terrible injury (because no other player ever has...apparently)

3- being generous enough to let Subban (an apparently one dimentional off. Dman) have the Norris.

It's truly amazing how you can make a statement about how you feel regarding Subban and within a few minutes are swarmed by Senators fans going on and on about Karlsson.

Any ability I once had to cheer for him and enjoy watching him play has vanished completely now. I just want him to bust and never be any good ever again and that makes me sad to think about.

I'm actually having a ton of fun shooting down the derp comments in the main board.

It's seems to have leveled off now though, the shock factor is fading.

You get stuck in the odd semantics contest, but the rest of it is entertaining.

I can't to hear PJ Stock's thoughts on Subban winning the Norris. Not once did he give him an ounce of credit for his fine play this year. He must be livid.

PJ Stock can't put together a coherent sentence in either language he "speaks," let alone give an objective opinion on a sport he was lucky to make a living in.
