I'd be in as well, i'm in Brossard.

I think it would be ideal to do it before an Impact game, so we can all head off somewhere to watch.

ETA: Good news about the QSF. Not only have they broken about 20 bylaws, but they are espousing a clearly xenophobic attitude that explicitly goes against the CSA.

Regardless of how you feel about the turban thing, the Canadian soccer has suffered for decades because provinces did their own thing, often against the interests of the Country. The recent changes in governance were suppose to change that. This suspension would have never happened under the old system. It's proof that we are really making progress.

But I think the suspension is a lil harsh.

And watch this becoming a political crisis between Quebec vs Rest of Canada.

That is the main reason as to why the QSA, approved this.

The QSA disgusts me, and this issue should not be conflated by Quebec's status, as much as people on both sides of the federalism debate will try to make it about that.

Au début du mois, la Fédération québécoise avait décidé d'interdire le port de ces pièces de vêtement tant et aussi longtemps que la FIFA n'aura pas modifié ses règlements pour le permettre.

They're only following the FIFA rules but yeah, keep saying it's a xenophobic attitude.

Yes, because the FIFA is a reference in terms of moral values.

That statement is factually incorrect.

FIFA has clearly stated that Turbans are allowed. The CSA had a meeting in March, where the QSF leader was present, where they discussed and ultimately agreed with the FIFA position.

The QSF made its decision while knowing full well that official policy had already been decided against them.

And anyways, irrespective of ones opinion of the turban, the QSF president has broken about 20 CSA bylaws and statutes. He has no legitimacy left and should immediately resign.

FIFA was asked this week about this issue, this was their response:
Quote:
“Under law 4 of the laws of the game it is stated that any equipment apart from the basic equipment shall be examined by the referee and be considered as not dangerous to be allowed on the field. Link

FIFA lifted the ban of wearing hijabs or turbans, as well as the Canadian Soccer association did. Therefore, as the Quebec Football Federation lies under the jurisdiction of the Canadian Soccer Association, please contact
them directly in this regard: Link

Thank you for your understanding and interest.

Kind regards,

For a broader context on the issues surrounding this, give this piece a read:

http://www.canadiansoccernews.com/co...gn-immediately

It's by Ben Rycroft, probably the most informed journalist in Canada on Canadian Soccer.

Man... this is so ridiculous. FIFA rules.. give me a break. This concerns some boys who just want to kick the ball around and make some friends. This is so out of proportion.

When I was a kid in the late 80's in Longueuil, we had a boy in my team that wore one. Nobody gave a ***** and now 20+ years later this is an issue. Come on!

And you can use Ouimette, Lefèvre and Tissot sporadically to give Camara and Brovsky a break. Those are just examples, you can come up with different mix of these players if you want the two squads to be more equal but it just shows that we'd have the depth to be competitive in both tournament.
And depending on the situation we can also use a 4-1-4-1 or a 4-2-3-1. We are versatile and deep, we can do great in BOTH competitions. Hopefully Schalli goes with two balanced squads instead of stacking one. Bush totally deserves to get all the starts in CCL though. His assignment was to win the CC and he did.

I like Bush and all but I don't think he's good enough against the top CCL teams.

Yeah same here. I feel a lot more confident when Perkins is in net. Bush has great reflections, but he often miscalculates his aerial balls interventions.

Well, is Perkins THAT much better? I don't think so. Perkins has a tendancy to give a LOT of balls away on goal kicks, at least, Bush doesn't do that. We have two very good keepers and I'd be confortable with either of them in the CCL, but I think Bush deserves it, he got us there. The difference between the two isn't big enough to give Perkins the CCL.

I don't think being sentimental with Bush about his fine efforts at a weak competition is beneficial to the club's chances at going the furthest. I do think Perkins is easily better and more experienced. Perkins for tough CCL + tight (6 point) MLS games. Bush can get the group CCL games if we don't lose footing in the group and maybe some weaker MLS teams.

Bush is even worse than Perkins on goal kicks imo.

Just basically resuming the political parties reactions after the suspension.

Marois saying that the decision is unacceptable, that the FSQ should be independent and ACS shouldn't intervene in its decisions. And of course the minister responsible of Quebec values charter project is not happy with the decision and that Quebec can decide on their own what they want to tolerate or not.

Liberal and Conservative parties support the decision.

NDP did not take a position but said that it's not acceptable in Canada to not let all kids play soccer regardless of their religion.

Joey Saputo did not take a position, he said every body should be allowed to play soccer, but that the suspension was harsh and unexplainable.
