To Toronto:

Nikita Nikitin

To Columbus:

Matt Frattin

Toronto get a decent shutdown dman and Columbus get a top9/6 forward. Adresses both team's needs.Thoughts ?

I'm pretty indifferent.
I'd rather just throw some coin at scudari

Would rather go after Tyutin.

We could lose Nikitin next summer and I think Frattin could be a solid second line winger. Too risky IMO.

I'd prefer him as well but just a little worried about the cost. Nikitin is actually very underrated and could be had at a fraction of the price.

Nikitin is indeed underrated.... to most people who aren't Columbus fans. I'd be a little hesitant to move him but i am a pretty big fan of Frattin. Issues with the idea though is while we have lots of defensive depth a lot of it is very young and its nice to have a few vets just incase they falter. Also we have a lot of forwards signed and are already wondering where everyone will fit. While Frattin is definetly good enough to crack the lineup it would be nice to move someone and make a spot for him

Throw in Dubinsky and the leafs will throw in something.

Nikitin shouldn't be very hard to get after this last season, he was outshined by prout and erixon. I'd go for it

I love Nikitin and would welcome him with open arms, but small gripe--hes not exactly a shutdown guy. Hes more two way with a greater emphasis on defense. He would serve the same function as Gunnarsson; they are similar players.

No thanks. Dubinsky is not a "throw in". His value is tremendous in Columbus and the way he played down the stretch he was one of the better players.

Leafs say no because Nitikin is a UFA at the end of the year who could walk for nothing well Frattin is an RFA that I believe has 3 years after this upcoming one of being controlled by the team.

Leafs aren't a top contender yet and shouldn't be making deals that will rob them of depth in future seasons.
