Those All-Star teams are usually pretty good. Let's get one of those.

... or it could be the Rangers of the past 10-15 years. Teams on paper don't always translate into winners.

Since we're all having such fun with Cap Geek rosters, here's one I'll toss out:

CAPGEEK.COM USER GENERATED ROSTER
My Custom Lineup
FORWARDS
Scott Hartnell ($4.750m) / Claude Giroux ($3.750m) / Jakub Voracek ($4.250m)
Simon Gagne ($2.500m) / Brayden Schenn ($3.110m) / Wayne Simmonds ($3.975m)
Maxime Talbot ($1.750m) / Sean Couturier ($1.375m) / Matt Read ($0.900m)
Zac Rinaldo ($0.750m) / Adam Hall ($0.700m) / Tye McGinn ($0.775m)
Jay Rosehill ($0.675m) /
DEFENSEMEN
Kimmo Timonen ($6.000m) / Luke Schenn ($3.600m)
Braydon Coburn ($4.500m) / John-Michael Liles ($3.875m)
Erik Gustafsson ($1.000m) / Nicklas Grossmann ($3.500m)
Bruno Gervais ($0.825m) / Chris Pronger ($4.941m)
GOALTENDERS
Ilya Bryzgalov ($5.667m)
Steve Mason ($1.500m)
OTHER
Buyout: Oskars Bartulis ($0.100m)
Buyout: Danny Briere ($0.000m)
------
CAPGEEK.COM TOTALS (follow @capgeek on Twitter)
(these totals are compiled with the bonus cushion)
SALARY CAP: $64,300,000; CAP PAYROLL: $64,768,095; BONUSES: $2,800,000
CAP SPACE (23-man roster): $2,331,905

Of course, the only "big" move is to deal for Liles, whom I believe (perhaps naÔvely, given the reports on him on these boards) the Flyers could get for very little. The alternative (for me) is to deal Read for Blum in the hope that the latter is primed to take off with his offensive potential. With Pronger still on the active roster, the cap space is healthy, so LTIRing Pronger would mean over $7 mil in available space to bring someone on.

I'd like to play conservatively with next season, given the roster situation (evaluating the learning curves of many young players, big contracts to sign, how will Mason/Bryzgalov look) and shallowness of the UFA depth.

Would any of you guys be willing to trade Coots + Coburn + our 1st for the Avs 1st OA and if so would you take Jones or Mac???

It would be a tough tough trade and we'd be taking a HUGE risk on Jones becoming the next Weber or Mac the next Stamkos/Tavares but if they did, man that could be huge for us.

I don't think that gets it done for Colorado since they have good centers already and their biggest need Is a #1 dman, just like us.

But to answer the question I would do it and I would select jones. I'm not too high on coburn these days and as much as I live Couts I think I do it

I think Bickell would be a good signing for the third line, could move up into top 6 if there are injuries etc.. Also anyone else like valterri filpulla?....

I don't know what they are going to do on D, but I bet homer does something big to try to fix it..

Hey guys I don't know how welcome outsiders are here but I thought I would post anyway. In terms of value do you think this is fair

Schenn + Schenn + Briere

for

Giordano + Backlund + Glencross + 28 overall pick this year

I threw it out as a bit of a joke on the Flames board and many seemed to think the Flames gave to much but I disagree would you guys think this is decent value or am I under selling the Schenn's?

Briere is being bought out - you can have him for nothing.

As for the rest, pass.

I honestly think the flyers will target Iggy, clowe, and Bickell in FA. They play the game we love. Would also give us a banger on all 3 lines.

I would take Bickell over them two to be honest. He's the youngest of the three and he'll probably be the cheapest. I would have said Clowe but I just read he had like 3 concussions this year.

Dont know if I'd go for Bickell with what he is going to command. I know he is having a nice playoffs but his highest point total is 37. It's not like he is a pker and honestly 37 on a team with Kane/Toews/Sharp/Hossa is kinda meh.

I agree. Bickell will be signed for big money by someone. The Flyers have Hartnell and Simmonds for this task.

I think bickell will disappoint any team expecting to get the "playoff" Bickell during the season. I don't see him bringing that same drive during the season. His production won't meet his contract. I see him being a Mark Bell and not bringing that same attitude night in night out.

I'd rather give McGinn a shot.
