I was thinking Nashville because they don't have a great team or prospects so it would be a challenge.

For some reason my PS3 deleted all of the saved data so here's my new dynasty team

Holland Retires, Sully Hired
August 17, 2012

Today Ken Holland announced his retirement. He was telling media that the pressure of winning was getting to him too much and he decided that the core team he started with of Yzerman, Fedorov, Draper, Osgood, and Lidstrom are no longer around, he decided it was time to spend more time with family. Well Mike Ilitch spent no time without a general manager as he hired Sully within hours. Rumor is Sully has been interning Holland and co. for a couple years now. His statement after signing the papers "Wow. I was a college student 15 minutes ago, now I'm the general manager of the Detroit Red Wings! I may be young and inexperienced as a head GM, but I've been learning from the best the past two years in Ken Holland. I will try to continue managing the Red Wings the same as the previous twenty plus years, as those seemed to work well for the organization. I'm very excited and can't wait for the season to start!"

In 2021 of my Red Wings GM mode (Salary Cap OFF, which has lead to... well, some crazy stuff)

If anyone recalls my 2017 TDL from Part 4 thread, it involved many insane trades. This 2021 TDL involves... something even crazier.

After the *4 hours left*
Washington trades Nicklas Backstrom to Boston for Sergei Bobrovsky + Travis Moen (Defense Prospect)

a few hours go by, Jamie Benn is sent to Phoenix, Anthony Mantha is sent to Winnipeg, and Jason Garrison is sent to Pittsburgh

After the *1 hour left*
Washington trades John Carlson + 3rd to Boston for......... Sergei Bobrovsky + 2nd

WTF

and then after that, Perry goes to Columbus, Alzner to Montreal, and Brennan, an 85 ovr dman who has already been traded twice and picked up on waivers, goes to his 4th team of the season the Penguins

Can't wait to see who you make the next captain, eventually.

Hate when that happens, although I haven't seen it since NHL 12 or 11. Great that you are committed to seeing your dynasty though though

I like the Preds, although I haven't played as them in NHL 13. Probably going to give them a run in 14.

For now, I'm gonna start a dynasty on the Canadiens, hopefully tomorrow!

Hey guys, I'm gonna be starting a dynasty with the Avalanche later today when I'm home from work. Ill start the write ups on the 2013 offseason with the draft. I'm going to try hard to tank so I can have the 1st overall pick like in real life. Also I will be changing the teams strategies to more correctly reflect what Roy will use as the new coach.

I like to do things realistically so I won't make stupid (or many) trades or make unrealistic FA signings/moves.

Also, I wanted a team with a challenge and not only did they finish last but they have the 29th best prospect pool according to the latest rankings on HF. Can't wait for the challenge!

Rangers Grab Veteran Winger
2015 Trade Deadline
38-21-8
3rd in East
March 7, 2015

GM Flamesrule didn't want to make the same mistake as last year. So, during the 2015 NHLTrade Deadline, he went out and traded for a veteran winger, Ryan Smyth. In order to get Smyth, he had to give up left-winger Martin Hrvik and left-winger Samuel Bennett. Smyth will fill in on the 4th line on the Rangers squad.

Ryan Smyth joins the Rangers at the Trade Deadline.

To :
Ryan Smyth- 76 OVR

To :
Martin Hrvik- 65 Overall
Samuel Bennett- 55 Overall

The 2nd trade was a mix up of prospects and draft picks. It included a 1st round draft pick to the New York Rangers, while the Toronto Maple Leafs received Nick Palmieri, Connor Murphy, and a 2016 2nd round draft pick to the Leafs. The Leafs are out of playoff contention by eight points, so the pick will most likely be in the top 10.

To :
1st Round Draft Pick- TOR

To :
Nick Palmieri- 76 Overall
Connor Murphy- 52 Overall
2016 2nd Round Draft Pick

Offseason Report

2022-2023

Important Players Needing New Contracts:

D Seth Jones 91OV
- Seth has been on a gorgeous contract the last few years, wich paid the #1 defenseman under $6 million a year.
C Logan Couture 89OV
- The 33 year old center has been a mainstay on the Canes for 9 years now, and will surely require a raise from his old contract that had a cap hit of 7.41. The Canes hope that it isn't too bad.
LW Harry Winchester 82 OV
- Because of his high potential, the Canes are hoping to sign him to a 3+ year deal that will pay off in the later stages.

Notable Changes:
Former 2nd line center Connor McDavid has risen from 86 to a 93 OV! He has 1 more year left on his contract.
LW Hunter Shinkaruk seems to have platuead at an 82 OV. Disappointing, as the Canes were looking for more when they signed him to a 5 year deal.
Top prospect C Drew Weaver will be ready for third line duty this year.
2016 43rd overal pick C Ulf Eriksson will also be ready for prime PK time and third line minutes.

The team that has won the Cup in the last two years has an important offseason ahead. First, the NHL Entry Draft:

The Canes held the 14th, 27th, and 30th picks heading into the draft.

Trade: LW Hunter Shinkaruk for 13th overall pick. Hunter severely regressed and we need the cap space.

Notable draft picks:
D Clarence Hajt - 3.5 yellow
C Stu O'Donnell - 3.5 yellow
LW Glen Myers - 3.5 yellow
LW Yuri Tyutin - 3.5 yellow
D Rudy Bosch - 3.5 yellow
RW Edgar McIlvane - 3 yellow
RW Tori Korpikoski - 3 yellow

Signings:
D Seth Jones - 91 OV - 8.81 X 3
C Logan Couture - 89 OV - 8.25 X 4
C Drew Weaver - 80 OV - 2.245 X 2
D Jarrod Fedoruk - 81 OV - 1.285 X 2
LW Harry Winchester - 82 OV - 4 X 3
and some 3.5 prospects

Hi everyone, I'm new to this website but I have been lurking for a while. When I found this part of the forum I knew I had to register because the Dynasty Mode has always been my favorite part of the NHL franchise and I wanted to share my experience with all you guys. So without further ado I present to you a sneak peak of the GM Mode I will be starting tonight.

The Fall & Rebirth of the National Hockey League

June 11th 2012 – Los Angeles Kings win their first Stanley Cup.

June 22nd 2012 – Nail Yakupov is drafted 1st overall in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft by the Edmonton Oilers.

July 2012
- Talks of the NHL possibly going into a lock-out if no new CBA Agreement is signed.

- Forbes Magazine publishes an article that mentions the bad financial state of many current NHL teams.

- Certain teams request financial aid from the league but the NHL is unable to provide them with the necessary support in order to pursue operations.

- Gary Bettman announces that they will not try to keep the teams that are financially unstable in the league like they previously did and that these teams will need to find new homes if they want to stay in the NHL.

- The following teams are on the market and need to relocate in order to keep playing in the NHL: Colombus Blue Jackets, Phoenix Coyotes, Florida Panthers, Anaheim Ducks, New-Jersey Devils and the New-York Islanders.

August 2012
- Business people all over North America showed interest in those teams and now that the NHL was not against the relocation of those teams, deals were made quickly and efficiently. The teams relocated as follows:

- Colombus to Seattle
- Phoenix to Las Vegas
- New-Jersey to Salt Lake City
- Anaheim to Saskatchewan
- Florida to Quebec City
- NY Islanders to Halifax

- The rosters stayed the same and the teams kept their respective prospect pools. However there were a few modifications made to the current divisions and conferences.

- The new teams' names and jerseys will be revealed later on before the start of the pre-season.

-The proposed divisional realignment was as follows:

I'm not sure if that's what you're looking for but to change the divisions around I use the substitute team button when selecting my team for Be a GM (which I think is the X for me on Xbox) and I replace current NHL teams with my custom ones. You can even substitute teams from the SEL, SM-Liiga, etc... so I might do an International League at some point if I feel like it but it would take lots of work so for now I'm gonna do this one! But I'm going to create this dynasty tonight and set it all up so if you have more questions I'll be able to answer them in greater details when I can actually see the whole thing cause im at work right now.

All Star Break Update

The team is 31-17-4 at the All Star Break. Nail Yakupov leads the team with 22 goals and Connor McDavid leads in assists with 30.

Like last year, the team experienced a slow start to the season, although it didn't get nearly as bad. Some line and strategy adjustments were made by the coaching staff.

Canes at the All Star Game:
Darnell Nurse and Steven Veilleux
