Don't give him false hope with that kindness.

We're nothing but a bitter, cynical group of people. We hate our lives. This is the only outlet we have.

I didn't realize you're new to the area, that explains the occasional "if anyone is bored and likes X band" posts. I'll keep that in mind going forward, I know it sucks when you're new to down and looking for things to do.

Alright... might as well make this my first post. HI GUYS! lol.

Name: Rachael
Gender: obviously female
Age: 34
Hometown: Meadow Lands, PA
Height: 5'4"
Weight: ask the horse
Location: Las Vegas
Occupation: Stagehand
Favorite TV show: Big Bang Theory
Favorite food: Starbucks
Favorite Coyote: Since Doaner is a given, Vrbata.
Favorite non-Coyote: *sigh* Guess my favorite player Steve Sullivan goes in THIS category now. :-(
Next or other favorite team: The Pens, (duh) but the Sabres are in the mix too.
How else is hockey in your life?: Might have an addiction to the Backhand Shelf podcast...
Favorite Coyotes moment: Oh... Sullivan's 1000th game in Nashville this year where they won 7-4 was pretty awesome.

How and when did you become a Coyote fan?:
I'd always kept an eye on them once I moved to Vegas since they were kinda "local" and I hated the Ducks-n-Kings. For 10 years I denied I was a "real" fan though, since, well... I'm from Pittsburgh.

I finally gave up that facade during the Coyotes/Kings playoff series last year when I was in Montreal, and the bartender refused to put the game on for me, claiming that "Nobody wants to watch a boring-ass series with two stupid crappy west coast teams that no one even cares about." After I threatened to come over the bar and demonstrate just how much "nobody" cared, I realized that just maybe I was a bit more emotionally invested than I was admitting to myself. (edited to add: I may have also said something like: "At least my boring-ass team is in the playoffs, how 'bout them Habs eh?)

I've finally come out of the west coast hockey closet. The Penguins are now my "backup" team. Sorry Crosby...

haha that's awesome, I bet that playoff line stung deep! hehe

Your story is similar to mine. I used to be a big (nervously looks around)...Redwings fan. Then the Coyotes moved to Phoenix and I started following them but continued to pledge my allegiance to the wheel. Then it happened...I got tickets to a playoff game where the Coyotes were playing the Wings. I told myself I was conflicted but when JR just passed the blue line and let rip a slapper that dribbled through Osgood, I came flying out of my seat!!! I then joined in the insanely loud "Let's Go Coyotes...Red Wings Suck" chant. It was that moment that I knew I could no longer live a lie. Been a diehard Yote ever since!

Welcome to the fold!

Favorite Coyote: Radim Vrbata
Favorite non-Coyote: Zdeno Chara
Next or other favorite team: Boston Bruins
How else is hockey in your life?: Mostly just following it and reading about it
Favorite Coyotes moment: Ray Whitney's playoff OT winner vs. Nashville
How and when did you become a Coyote fan?: Former Leafs fan turned Coyotes fan. I became tired of the Leafs' continued failure and ownership's monopoly of the market, and thus a disinterest toward fan satisfaction. At the same time, I've followed the Coyotes since the ownership story came to light, and followed more closely during each playoff run. I pulled the plug and became a full-time Coyotes fan during last year's playoff run.

Favorite TV show: Studio 60 is my all time favorite; really into Hannibal right now
Favorite food: Chicken Parmesan
Favorite Coyote: Doan, Ekman-Larsson
Favorite non-Coyote: Lately it has been Malkin
Next or other favorite team: I enjoy watching Pens and Caps (not necessarily only when they play each other)
How else is hockey in your life?: NHL on xbox; I wish I'd been able to play hockey for real though
Favorite Coyotes moment: Doan's hat-trick
How and when did you become a Coyote fan?: I guess I was exposed to the team by my father. He watched a game every once in a while. Hockey was only a mild interest for several years, my becoming a fan was such a gradual process that I can't even narrow it down to the year it happened. Eventually I decided to really invest in becoming a Coyotes fan, and hockey became my #2 sport behind soccer.

There is a "Beat LA" sign proudly displayed in my car, hopefully irritating to my fellow Torontonians.

Yeeeah, I'm going to need to update my original post.

Weight: 95kg (210lbs) 99kg (218lbs)

Occupation: Crime Prevention Unit - City Council Unemployed.
Favorite TV Show: The Walking Dead/Community Game of Thrones.
Favorite Food: Chicken Satay.
Favorite Coyote: Rusty Klesla Mikkel Boedker.
Favorite Non-Coyote: Vernon Fiddler Radim Vrbata.
Next or other favorite team: Coyotes, and only the Coyotes.
How else is hockey in your life?: Played between the ages of 10 and 15 before having to choose between hockey and another sport. Chose the other sport, which I now regret. My aunt is also a big hockey fan, though she supports San Jose.
Favorite Coyotes moment: Watching the Coyotes make the playoffs in 09-10, their first since 01-02. Getting so emotionally involved in that series, and then almost crying after losing Game 7.
How and when did you become a Coyotes fan?: We used to get the occasional game on ESPN, back in the day. It would have been around 2001, and I remember watching a Coyotes game and thinking how unbelievably awesome their logo and jerseys were. So I started to research the team, and.. here we are.

Favorite non-Coyote: not sure
Next or other favorite team: Canucks (I like PNW teams), leafs (I will watch any game on HNIC or NHL on NBC channel 12). I used to enjoy watching the penguins until Sidney Crosby came along. I loved Mario Lemieux but I cant get myself to root for the pens during a random game because Crosby is so unlikeable to me. Having access to HNIC via satellite in Washington got me into some of the Canadian teams like the leafs and Canucks. Still a huge fan of Doug Gilmour, Wendell Clark and Mats Sundin to this day.
How else is hockey in your life?: Used to play pick up roller hockey in Wa State during my free time.
Favorite Coyotes moment: Attending first round playoff game 2 against Blackhawks.
How and when did you become a Coyote fan? I started attending coyotes games in 2007 a few years after I first moved to Arizona. Have been a hockey fan since the early 90's. 2012 solidified my fandom of the Coyotes.
