Gillis wanted him at the TDL. Vancouver will probably make a top offer.

I expect Gillis to offer him a contract and hope he signs for the chance to play in Vancouver. Can't see a salary higher than 4.6M (internal salary structure).

Another team will probably outbid us, thankfully.

Don't want this slug near the Vancouver line up. He had the size but not the right type of player Nucks need to look for. We need someone who is atleast competent with the puck and able to create some scoring themselves.
Unless we are handing this slug 1st line minutes with the Sedins, there is no point in offering him a contract

Three concussions this season, holy ****. I have always been interested in the Bruins acquiring him but after watching Savard go down and having Bergeron and Horton with concussion issues, that might be too much risk in the lineup.

I wonder if those concussions affects him fighting, which is a real effective part of his game. A shame, I always was a fan of his and liked watching him play.

So he had as many concussions as goals this season? Always a good thing heading towards UFA.

Not a chance he signs in Vancouver. He's pretty outspoken with his hate of the Canucks.

As far as I know Clowe never had a concussion before this season. For what it's worth. Just throwing it out there as I wouldn't say he has a "history of concussions." He went, what, 8 NHL seasons without one, so as long as he recovers completely I don't think there should be too much worry.

I'm still waiting for any evidence of that "first" concussion he supposedly had here in SJ, too. We heard NOTHING about a concussion before we traded him. Not one word. So, I would be VERY leery about accepting a 1-off tweet as gospel on this without a lot of evidence to back it up.

Also, I would take the "Two concussions" at the end of the season with a grain of salt too. Like I said before, I would be willing to bet he did NOT have 2 concussions. I think he had 1, and the "Second concussion" was just him not being over the first yet, and aggravating it by trying to come back too soon.

In any case, like Stalock said, he had zero previous history of concussions in SJ that anyone knows of. So, I wouldn't think it should be a huge concern going forward, honestly.

Clowe had a concussion last season too. Still wouldn't call it a history, but just saying.

I think he re-signs in NY if Vignault ends up coaching there.
Only reason Vancouver was in the mix was the coach at the time of the free agent dead line. He chose a East Coast team to be closer to family,so its gravy if he gets both coach and location in NYR.

He's the exact mold of player that Chevy is looking for the Jets. Hard nosed north-south style. Not sure if we could fit him in after the RFA's sign, but I also expect Chevy to make quite a few moves this year.

I would love to bring him back because we desperately need his toughness and I like his leadership. That being said, he'd have to come way down from the rumored 4-5M. He's simply not worth that.

Montreal and Edmonton both need him but Edmonton has more cap space. I hope the Habs get him as a Habs fan... A tough guy with a scoring touch is absolutely necessary in Montreal. Would give them a nice one/two punch with Prust.

I'd give him 4 million for 3 years, forgot to mention. You'll have to overpay in this market.

Yeah that would make alot of sense buy out Brad Richards and give Ryan Clowe pretty close to what Richards would be getting in his final 7 years there in New York there is no way the Rangers can afford to pay Clowe this much.

No if your current team resigns you then it can be up to 8 years, If he goes free agency then yes it's 7 years unless his rights are traded away then the new team can also sign him to an 8 year deal.

Clowe is about as much of a North-South player as I am a basketball fan.

If Clarkson walks I could maybe see NJ being interested. We need some LW depth and DeBoer might be able to get him to fill Clarkson's shoes

Clowe is going to be one of those "I played with great playmakers with one team, now I'm overpaid on another" players.

Really? Have you watched him play when he was at his best? Nothing to do with playing with great playmakers. If anything playing with great playmakers made his worse because he tried to emulate them instead of playing power forward.
