Jaromir Jagr Negotiating Return to KHL

per Igor Eronko
Quote:
Praha #Lev of #KHL exec told isport.cz club is in talks with Jaromir Jagr #Bruins
I could honestly see this. Jagr made it back to the Cup Finals, win or lose, he's not likely to make it back there next year, his contract extension with Dallas failed, maybe head back to KHL and play a few more years for more money, less grind.

Greedily, I hope he stays in the NHL.

Maybe, but I don't see why his agent can't explore options while he is playing.

I really can't see it. Jagr is the ultimate pro and I highly doubt he would disrespect the bruins organization while they are going into the Stanley cup. I could see a khl team calling about his services but I doubt Jagr is in talks to sign a contract with them at this point

Exactly, it's not like Jagr is over there talking to them. It's more likely his agent negotiating with them and then will come back to Jagr after the finals and see what he wants to do.

you realize that Jagr isn't the one negotiating with the KHL, right? that's what agents are for. I hope people on here are smart enough to realize that.

Of course he'll explore the possibility a return to the KHL. Why not explore all viable options? There may be a team in the NHL willing to compete, but it's probably up to the results of the SCF to help him decide on what to do. Win=probable KHL return. Lose=Probable NHL return. Then again, like others have said, cash is a primary factor as well.

The guys still got it but I sure couldn't blame him for going home and taking a big payday for the last couple years of his career.

Well if it was any other European this board would be in hysterics over how disrespectful it is to the Bruins and how selfish it and so on and so forth.

But people bend over backwards around here to make excuses for the stupid or greedy things that Jagr has done over the years so I'm not surprised to see that trend continuing.

Wouldn't be able to handle a full 82 game season with playoffs at this age. Might aswell go to the KHL and make one last big contract while he still can.

Come on, one more year. Wouldn't mind the Canucks signing him for a year.

I'm a big Jagr fan... Would be the ONLY reason i could swallow the Bruins winning the Cup.

I think the KHL next yr is a no brainer - Assuming he'll still pull in a fat contract for a season or 2 over there, i think he has more than earned and deserves it.

Unless he wishes to hit 700 goals or 1700 points, he has nothing left to prove in the NHL. His legacy is cemented.

Really hope he will decide to stay in the NHL with the Bruins.

When Marchand & Bergeron were struggling and he was put on their line it really got them going and Jagr & Marchand have some really good chemistry,

KHL makes the most sense. Can't see him holding up over another full 82 plus possible playoffs. Gotta make money somehow, wouldn't hold it against him.

Jagr wants money and that's where he will be making the most so it makes sense for him to go back

Love having him here but we need to keep Horton and not an old Jagr

This assumes that Jagr is not in contact with his agent at all. Because in this modern day and age, Jagr doesn't have to be "over there talking to them" anyway. He can merely take a phone call, use Skype, or even just talk back and forth with his agent a time or two.

Regardless, it would appear that his focus is not entirely on the playoffs. Much like it was when he left the Rangers.

Didn't he call his agent during the 2001 ECF? like actually during an intermission?

I disagree. He's basically looking for his next job while he still has one, which is not that much different than what other people do anyway. And it's doubtful the Bruins will re-sign him.
