Is this somehow directed towards me or did someones post get deleted?

TSN's The Kaufman Show talked about it Monday. They invited Dr. Sanjeet Singh Saluja, who is a Mcgill doctor as well as one of the gameday doctors for the Impact.

He also previously worked for the QSF and has coached for 20 years.

Fantastic discussion.

We're talking about children here for the most part who will play a couple of years of recreation soccer. No culture can live if it attempts to be exclusive which is what they try to preach here and that's why Quebec sport is producing the least amount of talent in Canada, whether it's Hockey,Soccer,Rugby,Basketball. None of the four major team sports have many if at all any Quebecer's on our national team and there's a reason for that. Their methods date back to ancient times instead of growing the game and promoting participation to all the different cultures that reside here.
Man...

Honestly, can't you see that you're going too far with your statements ?

Week 15 power rankings, here is the quote about the Impact

Quote:
They're getting used to the view at the top. You know what view we want to get a little bit used to? That of Justin Mapp in a US national team uniform. There's not a better winger in the league at the moment.
The team looks good for keeping Mapp and re-working his contract. The way he's playing, he would've been worth what he was making last season

Seriously. The only reason I come to HFB daily during the Habs offseason is for this thread...and it's now turning into a politics/religion thread. I understand it's somewhat soccer related, but it sucks that I have to navigate through all that to read about the Impact.

Me too guys, but it's going to quickly shift back to Impact discussion before next game.

Concerning Mapp, I think last year he was our best player in the first 10 or so games, before Di Vaio arrived. But for whatever reason, he did not find chemistry with Di Vaio at all, and we all wanted him gone. But this year, some magic happened, and he's doing wonders with Di Vaio, they found great chemistry. I don't know if it's because he's playing on the right wing this year, but my guess is that Di Vaio sat with him and explained to him how tactics work in the real world of professional soccer.

Apparently Paponi and Pisanu are ready to play now.

Can't wait to see Paponi backwith Di Vaio up front!

Edit : @ Captain Saku : Yeah I think Mapp playing to the right has really changed his game. I don't know if he sees the field better or if he's just more at ease to make his passes and crosses on that side but he looks much better on the right.

It's funny because I can't recall Mapp being very good on the right wing last year. His crosses were much better when he was playing on the left.

Wasn't it Arnaud and Neagle that shared the right side last year?

Playing on the right side suits him better, since he prefers his left foot and loves cutting to the middle of the field. If he's on the left side of the pitch and cuts to the middle, his body is in no position to make a forward pass (edit: assuming he wants to use his left foot).

Edit 2: Talking about Mapp lol

You're out for lunch cause Davy Arnaud played RW all season. BTW Mapp is still not a very good cross-over passer, it's his cutting down the middle and delivering the perfect threw ball that has massively improved.

I might be wrong, but I think Neagle mostly played on the left side last year.

Yep, after the 60th minute when Mapp couldn't move anymore. In hindsight it sucks now that we never tried him as a forward with Di Vaio.

Correct, Neagle played mostly on the left side last year, but he also played a game or two on the right side. Last year, Arnaud played almost exclusively there, and Nyassi was the 1st choice as a backup.

But ThaDevilGirl is correct, Mapp was actually tried on the right side last year, but he never finished a game on the right side. When Arnaud was not playing or was playing RB, Marsch used to shuffle Nyassi and Mapp from left to right and vice versa, but Mapp never looked impressive on the right last year. As I said, he just didn't have chemistry with Di Vaio. Mapp was even tried as CAM for one game last year. He was terrible lol.

They are in the semifinals. I think you play the winner or runner-up if it is the same team that won the title in the 1st half of the season.

As it should, this is a pressing issue right now (for instance, Quebec might lose the right to host games for the 2015 Women's World Cup), but I agree by this weekend all talk should be about the impact.

And to answer someone else's point, my previous comment was directed at a post that had nothing to do about soccer and everything to do about religion and politics.

And when it comes to Mapp, I'm still skeptical about him, but he's been proving me wrong lately. But the homer in me just wants more Romero.
