I get that the package might not be what your looking for. But refering to Eller and Gorges as "nothing coming our way" is just plain stupid.
I think he was talking from Montreal's point of view

Nolan and king don't play centre. Nolan looks like a 13th forward.

In response to those offering penner's rights, no thanks.

He'd get crucified here.

Well if the trade goes down Nolan will be in MTL, Vey hasn't played a game yet, Lewis is better at wing(we saw that against san jose) King can play center?!?...since when? Richardson will not be resigned.

Which leaves Stoll and Fraser. Stoll is a PK first player playing on our 2nd PP unit. I rather have Stoll play fourth line duties killing penalties and have Eller play 3rd line with PP time. Bernier will get us a winger back, we still have Pearson and Clifford for LW 3-4th line minutes.

Of course that's if MB pulls the trigger

It's odd that they haven't been put on the 4th line centre for at least one game at some point then. I mean Richardson, Fraser, and Lewis have all spent time there and as a healthy scratch.
I believe you, just haven't seen it.

true that one less if nolan goes ( and i m really hoping he does) I like lewis as a 4th center personally getting rid of fraser. Bernier gets us a first id like it better someone who maybe ready next year should we loose brown

But Mtl does need to get bigger and Nolan, Ellerby can fit, just don't know what we need from MTL.

How about:
Nolan
Ellerby
Rights to Penner

for

Eller
2nd
Montreal needs get bigger so they should trade their biggest centre + a good pick for an assortment of depth players?

Eller is just comin into his own.

Why trade him when we don't even know what we have yet?

I'm wary of Richards even though he's fairly young he's got a lot of hard miles on him.
