I don't think what happens this year has any affect on him showing up next year. His SEL team was eliminated and this was a good chance to come over and immerse himself in the NA game and culture. Even if he doesn't play, being exposed to the NHL playoffs and getting to practice with the B's will pay benefits and ease the transition to full time duty next season.

Question. Considering how God Awful Kelly and Peverly have played,( Combined 1g, 0A, -10), if Soderberg is not a better option, why in the world did the B's go to so much trouble to get him over here?

He signed a 3 year deal and he's still a great depth pickup for this year. I'm positive he'll have a regular roster spot next year because at least one of Horton, Jagr, Pevs, or Kelly will have to go to clear cap space.

I understand that, but that still doesn't answer why he is in the press box while these other two clowns keep struggling. If they truly believe he will be able to fill a significant role next year, why not now when they have 2 3rd liners who are doing virtually nothing and they could desperately use some 3rd line scoring against the pens.

Claude frustrates us often..... I have a churning feeling in my gut that Claude is busy trying to formulate a plan to get Pandolfo out there some time in the playoffs way before Soderberg will get a sniff

Kelly and Pevs are key players for our PK - that's why they are still in the lineup.

With an aggressive Pens team coming to town, having a stable PK is an absolute must. Soderberg is still an unknown commodity.

So was Krug and hes fairing just fine. Yeti has played in one of the bests leagues in the world. He's used to playing with the big boys. I have no doubt he'd be okay fitting in. He'd be doing more than Kelly/Pevs are doing on that line for sure.

But you're right. Right now, both are in the lineup just for the pk..and the faceoffs.

If you took one of them out, you'd still have Kelly/Peverley, Paille and Campbell on the PK. Bergy could help out a little too.

We need Thornton, at least in game one, when Cooke tries to put Krug in the hospital and an epic brawl ensues. Book it.

New position, new ice surface, new system... It's quite a challenge without a proper training camp.

On HNIC, they interviewed Chara. Then, they showed Rask stretching. Then, Soderberg skated by and off the ice towards the dressing room.

Call me stupid, call me insane, call me a quack. Soderberg better be in the lineup if Horton is out for any period of time. I don't know why having this guy on the bench instead of Kelly makes any sense. If you dropped Kelly in Yeti's old league, does he put up the same numbers? Hell no he doesn't. I know the NHL is a cut above, but Soderberg is at least that much better of a player than Kelly......right? RIGHT?

As much as want to see the Yeti in the lineup if Horton can't make game 2 (he sucked tonight, giveaway machine, but my god hope he's not done for the series), they have Seguin to bump up, and Yeti on the 3rd line over Caron...that's iffy...

If Horton can't go they'll bump Seguin up, keep Daug in, and most likely play Caron. I'd prefer Caron to Panawful.

Lucic - Krejci - Seguin
Marchand - Bergeron - Jagr
Caron - Peverley - Soderberg
Paille - Kelly - Thornton

Can we please free the Yeti?
Kelly and Pevs look like corpses out there. Just terrible. Take a seat please.

All I know is they must have thought highly of him to go through hoops to get him signed. If they don't put him in and next year he does prove to be a key contributer, they are going to have some serious splainin to do if they lose this series.

Julien has 100% call on the line-ups. There is no "they" in this situation --it is all on Julien.

Soderberg would have scored if he had the same opportunity Dawg did.

CHI likes to roll their lines the same way Boston does, so getting that 3rd line going is vital. Segs to 1st line RW, Soderberg to 3rd line LW with Kelly and Pevs, Dawg 4th line C.

Yep, I wasn`t on board with Sods being inserted when Soupy went down, but now, potentially with a top 6 player out, it`s almost a "have to" situation. Not sure how he`ll react to the Cup finals pace and physicality but....guess we may see

I disagree, that was a great defensive play by Oduya to tie his stick up there.
