I would like to focus on the bolded portion, however. The challenge here is twofold... first, Kahlenberg or Airchime will happily install any goal horn the Rangers want, but it will be tough to create a sound similar to the "fire engine"-type thing they currently have that leads into the song. What they may end up with is quite samey-same as heard elsewhere in the league, and I think that would be sort of a shame. Second, they'd have to make sure that any horn installed is put in a place that the vibration does not cause physical damage to the building or any electrical equipment.

As for budget, LOL... the Rangers can spend any amount of money on anything.
Yeah that thing about the budget threw me off for sure, but perhaps he meant that it's ON the budget list for renovations?

No. But the Rangers fans are not the only fans to complain about the ice. It happens with every single fanbase and arena.

I was halfway expecting them, moments before starting bridge construction, to go "No this is silly" and scrap the entire plan.

You have to change the date on your computer (I bump it up 2 months, although 1 month might work) to get the most current pics.

I really hope they don't change the goal horn.

Is it possible the bottom of the bridge will sit on that construction platform? If so you can clearly see how all those seats in the background will be impacted

There is currently no goal horn. It is audio fed through speakers. The Rangers and Boston are the only two teams that use this method in the NHL.

I don't believe so. More likely, the bottom of it will sit at the bottom of those vertical supports you see.

Well I do see those hanging bars - you think those are supports? I'm not sure what the point of that platform is since workers apparently still have a ways up to go for construction

So what then, they are going to lift the bridge higher later during the construction? If when completed the bridge is at the height of the construction platform, it's going to be terrible sitting behind it.

I'm in the minority, but I think the bridges will look pretty cool. I always like having something no one else has. Just to be a little different.

Great if you're the one sitting on the bridge

Not so great if you're behind it

I wonder how much of a challenge it would be to get the actual horn (or something as similar as possible) used by the FDNY trucks?

If this rendering is to be believed, the walkway of the bridge will be where the support beams coming from the ceiling end, and the scoreboard ribbon will be running right underneath.

In the picture above I noticed (right above the word 'Period') a staircase going down. Is that leading to a seating area? In the construction pic there are beams facing diagonally towards the playing surface?

The rendering looks correct. They're struggling on the powerplay.

The bridges look like they're going to impact at least 12 rows. Not only that, but it's also very distracting from the ice.

I wonder how extreme the angle will be looking down from those seats on the walkway.

Yes, there are one or two rows of seats on the ice side of the bridges.

Depends on your definition of "impact". Certainly there will be some number of rows that lose their view of all or at least some of the center ice scoreboard. Beyond that, many more rows will likely have some kind of peripheral distraction by the bridges and people moving around above.

That's how they're going to get back to 18200 from 17200...
