Colton Orr is on the verge of getting a new two-year deal with TOR, worth a little less than $1M per year.
Yay.

Go Cotton! Nice deal for him. The Leafs will have a bunch of bruisers ready in 2 years time if not earlier (buyout won't exactly kill them).

Colton Orr wasn't half bad in the playoffs either, when he was smashing the Boston Defense to smithereens

I don't care much for Orr, but he's a product of Carlyle's system, so a cap hit of less than a million is acceptable.

I just hope we don't see him and McLaren in the lineup at the same time.

2 more years of daily whining about him being in the lineup.

I'll take Colton on my team over Connelly any day and every day. Not to mention Lombardi, Armstrong and Steckel.

Makes me puke to think of them. Colton threw his weight around even against Chara.

This was pretty much expected, Nonis/Carlyle realize his importance to the team

Meh, somebody has to play 4th line minutes. May as well be Colton Orr. The players in the dressing room like him, so whatever, I can live with him being a part of our team for 2 more years at least. I just wish that guys like that would be phased out of the NHL. Having said that, I do respect guys like Orr a lot more than guys like Kaleta who also need to be phased out of the NHL.

Awesome. Would've sucked to see him leave when he fits in so well with Carlyle's type of team.

Read this for the definitive take on why this kind of sucks: http://www.pensionplanpuppets.com/20...ching#comments

In short he makes us a worse team which should be blatantly obvious to everybody.

Feels good, mane! You gotta have these guys. Especially in this division. Now I hope they can sign Torres and stick him on a line with Mclaren/Orr.

And what importance is that?

I thought the Leafs would have learned their lessons from the playoffs, when Orr was about as ineffective a player as a playoff team could have.
