in all seriousness Torres must be doing something right, lately his teams do damage in the playoffs and then suck when he's not playing for them any more

He was an important part in helping the kids develop and gain some confidence. He can scrap with the best of them.

Very happy to see him back.

Hmmm yes just what we need, Colton Orr for another 2 seasons instead of somebody who can actually play hockey.

I am a fan of Torres.

He can bring a physical element and play regular minutes, and he will most likely be cheap.

Wouldn't mind him at all on the leafs, especially since komarov is gone.

I remember before Torres signed in Vancover he talked about wanting to come home and playing in Toronto, however we all know Brian Burke never signed him. So do you think that Dave Nonis might think different about signing him?

Excellent signing, big part of our team identity and comaraderie. Also doesn't hurt us 5 on 5.

Having him relevant under a better coach than the one we had before made us a better and tougher team to play against.

Buys more time for Devane to hone his skills with the Marlies.

Yup. He's a machine. He's got some skill, speed, and hits hard. Sort of like thornton in boston. Reeeeally hoping they go after him.

in the first game... where everyone stopped skating
i noticed one person or one shift that actually played some hockey

and Colton Orr was a player that continued to PLAY HOCKEY
people are bashing him this and that

there was a reason he was always in the line up
of course you people dont watch games, you just make up stupid opinions from your ass

Probably has something to do with the fact that he plays 2 minutes a game.

I don't hurt the Leafs 5 on 5 either.

Colton Orr played 8 minutes and 11 seconds in the first game. You must be watching extra hard to notice him.

I want Torres as far away from this team as possible. Signing him is basically the same as signing a guy with so many concussions he's one hit to the head away from retirement. Let Torres goon it up somewhere else, at least when Orr goons it up he has a good reason.

I hope we re sign mclaren as well. Dudes imposed their will on other teams. I'd like to see Orr play every night with mclaren playing with Orr against tough teams, or when Orr needs a break.

I thought he played the "Shawn Thornton" role well. Obviously you don't like the rough style of hockey but the coach and gm do so you're sol there bud. We finished higher than we have since the last lockout with the third overall pk and you're worried about our fourth line

Good for Colton, had a great bounce back year and I don't mind him at all playing the 4th line RW role or as the 13th forward.

That's easily the worst part of all this. People know so much more than the Gm and the Coach I guess eh

I love Orr on this team. I like having an extremely rugged 4th line. I don't see why Biggs can't take McLaren's spot. It's only for 8-10 mins a game and Biggs is the better hockey player, while still being fairly tough. Orr can handle the heavyweights and let Biggs try dealing with the middleweight 4th liners in the league.

I don't see the Bruins or Blackhawks (or Penguins or Kings) having an enforcer in their lineup.

I definitely look forward to rolling only 10 forwards in the playoffs next year

Except when we play Habs, Sens, maybe Bruins. Otherwise yeah each switch playing every other game, unless one deserves to be in for more. But Good signing, I like Orr.

I don't think Biggs would develop properly if he was rushed into the fourth line role where he'd be expected to constantly be more physical than guys who are older and more grizzled than he is. Biggs ideally will become a third line winger for us, POSSIBLY a 2nd liner with a physically intimidating edge. He's a big boy, and I'm sure he's tough as nails, but him getting his ass handed to him right now might not be the best for him.

Orr Played 6.30 Mins per game in the playoffs.

Even Shawn Thornton who is widely regarded as the best 4th line enforcer in hockey played 8 mins per this playoffs.

6-8 mins a game for a 4th line player is the norm these days.

If he takes on 3 Habs at once again like he did this year just once I'm down with a signing for less than a million. It doesn't hurt our cap space, his playing time really doesnt hurt, and he's an easy guy to sit in the press box, a team first guy and Kadri and the young guys' "body guard". I'm perfectly okay with this.

Biggs shouldn't be in a designated fighters role, even asked to fight middle weights. He's the type of player to get in heat of the moment brawls, not "you're a middleweight, I'm a middleweight, lets go". He'd get eaten alive by middle weights in the chel with much more experience. When we bring him up he should be on the third line and maybe get into a few fights his first year to get his feet wet. Plus, everyone is hoping he can be more than a fourth liner
