All they have left for Friday's game is standing room. Crazy! So glad my friend bought our seats when she did.

Mmm, we're doing dinner at Hop Cat on Friday. Grand Rapids has some very good restaurants and I always eat too much before the game and end up not enjoying my $2 beer...

Griffins have $2 beers from 6-8pm

Last I heard they had 300 standing room tickets left and I wont be shocked if those are gone by now.

Hope they don't need the extra game to close this one out, they have wasted their first chance in the three previous series.

Okay thanks.. Stubhub has cheepest starting at $100. I cant see anyone paying that. That seems insane for beer prices though. Now that I know that Ill be making a few trips next year.

During the regular season, I think just about every Friday night, Van Andel Arena has $1 beer nights, for at least the first period or two. Prepare to double your visits!

At this point, I just want to see them close it out at home.

I would not be surprised at all to see Syracuse win on Friday. Its not like the Griffins have been dominating this team in all aspects of every game. Syracuse is not some punk team. They are a championship team that won the calder cup last season with Norfolk. About 3/4 of their roster won that cup last season.

Sure, I want to see the Griffins finish it on Friday just as much as any other GR fan does. At the same time though, if Syracuse wins, its not like GR fails epically.

I have friends in the Griffins front office and they said that there are still a handful of standing room only tickets or GA seats available. This game was sold out by the weekend.

If you can't get tickets to Friday, get some for Saturday. You will get a refund if the game isn't played. I have a feeling the Crunch are going to win on Friday.

Crunch fans are hoping for at least one win to prevent the sweep but the difference in the "hunger" between the two teams is obvious even to non-hockey fans.

Do you guys now understand why Tatar was send down from NHL? He was destined to lead his AHL-team for glory he has been leading for 4 years. This was absolutely the best path that could happen for him. He didn't lose any develop, because he lost some NHL games. This AHL-playoff run developed him much much more as an individual.

Ken Holland knew it best, again. Man he is a lucky GM.

It has worked out and now this is two straight seasons where he should enter the off-season with worlds of confidence. If they win on Friday, he should be the winner of the Jack Butterfield Trophy, would think it is between Tatar, Mursak and Mrazek.

That is really the lucky part with this team. Mursak never should have cleared waivers, when a bunch of us were throwing a fit over him not getting a shot, I hope people have paid attention to what a healthy Jan Mursak is. Guy is +29 with 32 points in 43 games in Grand Rapids.

He has been a better scorer at playoffs than he was at regular season. Better scorer than ever. That's a fact of his development. Being in NHL would not have done anything any better. Now it's just percect that he can win something and get an experiment together with those guys. Nyquist was needed for NHL, so was Andersson. This is Tatar's Cup if anyone elses.

That won't hurt either. Interesting to see what happens with our slovakians... could they took Jurco? Tatar is a lock for them.

One of Mrazek’s best attributes, Osgood said Thursday as he drove around Grand Rapids, is that “he thrives on pressure. He enjoys it when the team is up by a goal with 10 minutes to go. Then he just becomes unbeatable. He believes he’s going to win every game. You have to have that as a goalie.”

...
Osgood has worked primarily with Mrazek, a fifth-round pick from 2010 who has turned into a blue-chip prospect. Much like Osgood and former Wing Dominik Hasek, Mrazek is imperturbable.

“Demeanor wise,” Osgood said, “he knows up 3-0, and he’s not even talking about it. That’s kind of like myself, and how Dom was.”

Mrazek, 21, made a very favorable first impression with the Wings when he delivered a 5-1 victory in his debut back in February. Part of what Osgood has tried to teach Mrazek is puck-handling, something at which Osgood excelled.

“He’s got all the attributes, he just needs to add a few things and grow before he’ll be in Detroit,” Osgood said. “I work with him on foot speed, on getting him to come out of the blue paint and challenge more. But he’s good. And he corrects himself. You don’t have to tell him over and over.”

Tatar is basically a lock for the national team. (Panik from Tampa/Syracuse probably too )
.
Jurco? Highly unlikely, he`s too young and unexperienced yet.

Just want him (Jurco) to be on their national camp "sniffing the air". Just like Nyquist for Sweden. I don't think either will be on the final roster.

Not really sure why Panik would be that much more of a lock at this point in time, we are getting a good look at both over the last several months and Jurco is outperforming him both in this series and in the playoffs.

Will also predict at least one automatic game suspension for Panik on checking to the head.

I like Panik as a player, just think he is a curious bring to the Olympics and don't see a ton separating him and Jurco. Part of really why Jurco should be invited to a camp, I think he would surprise a lot these days after a slow couple months transitioning to pro hockey he has been on absolute fire.
