he was close to making it last year, so I would assume he makes it next. I bet if he played for the USNDTP he would have been on the team last year.

The same BS they pulled on Tinordi and he was the Captain for the U/17 team the year before and Oleksiak, only he had dual citizenship and joined Team Canada.

Good luck to MacAulay, but I feel his footspeed will keep him from progressing through the professional levels.

Yes, he was among the last 3 guys cut from camp now that you bring that up.

Guys still eligible for junior.

I also believe he was the only one to score in an exhibition game.

Personally, I wouldn't be completely opposed to getting him.

Though, similar size and skating troubles as Berger.... Could spell the same problems. If MacAuley had another place to go play for more money.

Corban Knight not signing with Florida... Can Kristo convince him?

WOULD-BE-A-DREAM. But I'm way too involved as far as he's concerned, been a favorite of mine since his NCAA days. I'd need a more balanced opinion than mine....

MB needs to be on this. We could also trade for him and try to sign him.

Righty center, good size, strong on faceoffs, could be fairly close to NHL action, centered one of our top prospects, etc.

Bulldogs need help down the middle big time...it's just a no-brainer to me.

The timing could actually be pretty good for a fit here, looks like we'll be thin on forward prospects in Hamilton next season. Knight could start around 14-16th on the depth chart and get some NHL games.

Yea he's got some good tools. I question his pro upside. See a lot of Kelly if he makes it.

I think he knows very well he won't start in the NHL and Hamilton has plenty of centre spots after Dumont. Gabriel might even start with the Habs - who knows. And I know he enjoyed playing with Kristo. It could be a great match.

Corban would probably have some good chemistry with his linemate from ND as well.

You don't have to take it personally...not every Saskatoon Blade will be a star. :-)

Fact is that Thrower underachieved last season..there are several flaws in his game that may or mat not be corrected. One of the issues is his size. He's able to get away with being a physical dman at the junior level, but in the pros his lack of size will hurt him. He can throw big hits and such, will likely always be able to do that, but in front of the net and in the corners, that lack of size becomes a problem.

Of bigger concern is his defensive play...poor reads and positioning, inconsistent effort, brain cramps, but there wasn't a development in his offensive game last year either. Skating is also a concern, in particular his pivoting and lateral agility. 6-0 dmen in the pros are usually pretty mobile.

I think Dietz is the better pro prospect at this time, and that Thrower will struggle to make the NHL. That's not the end of the world - there are only 7 spots available...not all of our drafted dmen will make it.

Should I be excited about Corban Knight at all? I don't follow much NCAA and only really know him from his stats. He looked good when I watched Kristo IIRC.
