He's disliked because he calls out the team and frankly I don't blame him. Get constantly hung out to dry by your D? of course! it makes total sense to dislike the guy :: sarcasm::. At this point he's beyond bonkers by the amount of odd man rushes. I bet they blame him for their **** season too. Ask for a trade Bryz.

Ever since I saw 24/7 last year I got the feeling that the "cool guys" in the Philly locker room found too weird to accept even though he seems like a funny and affable guy. His teammates never seemed to laugh with him, they seemed to laugh at him, and it was especially poignant in the breakfast room scene with Zolnierczyk.

But then again, what can you expect out of a locker room that was defined by Chris Pronger...
Pretty much. I see Bryz as a guy who is blunt and to the point and isn't liked because he isn't like them.

Saw a little buzz this morning that Seattle has offered Key Arena rent free for 3 years if the NHL wants to move the Coyotes there. Also, Elliot Friedman apparently had Bill Daly tell him after Wednesday's press conference that they'd know something on the Coyotes by today.

Seattle will be an awesome NHL city. They should have a team there now. However, PHX should stay. They have support from fans, they need the city's support.

The situation in Glendale is really at a breaking point. Unless the team wins the sole arena management rights, they can't stay where they are because no one wants to own them. The arena management rights would make the Coyotes at least in a situation like the Panthers, where hockey operations nets a loss, but gives access to concession and parking revenue for all arena events, plus the management fee itself, and ends up being a profit for the owner. The city of Glendale has narrowed the management rights to two firms, plus the group bidding on the Coyotes. At this point, though, the potential buyer wants $15m to operate the arena and it looks like Glendale has only budgeted $6m for it. It's not looking great for them.

If the Coyotes end up in Seattle, it's probably not going to be because the league sold the team to an owner there. We'd be looking at a parallel situation to MLB in DC with the Expos. The league got an amazing deal to play at RFK (similar to Key Arena being offered for free) and ended up paying for part of the construction cost of the new stadium. The first season of the Nationals existence, they were owned by MLB. The existence of the franchise drummed up a bunch of buyers and the league ended up off-loading the Nationals for a huge amount. That would be the goal if the NHL were to end up in Seattle. We will see. It's still probably more likely Quebec is coming back.

Florida could move though. Let them move to Seattle, add Kansas and Quebec and you're done!

Florida isn't going anywhere. SSE and Viner are making too much money.

and the bug eyed walrus wins Jack Adams. Very well deserved. Liked Ottawa a lot this year

I think McLean is a deserved winner looking at all the injuries Ottawa went through and still made the 2nd round of the play-offs (eliminating 2nd seed Montreal)

Shero winning the GM award, ridiculous. Acquiring Iginla, Morrow, Murray and Jokinen is not really that impressive. I think Sather's deal with getting Brassard, Moore, Dorsett and Clowe is maybe even more impressive, considering what was given up to get these guys

I think Shero is a horrible GM for giving Malkin a huge contract and handing 25% of the cap to 2 players

Shero is a horrible GM for locking up a Hart and Conn Smythe winner to a sweetheart contract?

I wish Sather was a horrible GM, then.

They lost their top forward, Dman and goalie for almost the whole season, yet still made it to round 2.

Best GM ? Meh, kind of silly to award a GM for one single season. Now I know what Slats has been gunning for all along

Not really an achievement if you throw 10 mln a year at them.

Yeah, but the guy blew up a team that was 1st in the conference last year. Not exactly GM of the year material.
