Canucks players to the Rangers

With the hiring of Alain Vigneault, could the Rangers scoop up some of his former players (obviously the Sedins are out of the question)? Did he have any particular favorite players while he was there (besides Aaron Rome)? If so, what would it take to get those players on the Rangers?

Your kidding. Just because they are favorites of AV... does that mean we want them here? That would be like Bickel going wherever Torts goes. Just because he is a favorite of the coach doesn't mean they are NHL players or with having on the Roster.

Can we please close this thread as the whole premise is just mind numbing.

We want them? No... It's more of an objective thing. If Vigneault has some favorites, they might end up in New York because Vigneault will want them to come. How can we as fans want someone we don't even know?

AV likes Jannik Hansen, and he'd be a great fit for the NYR. Low cap hit, fast skater, great utility player. But the Canucks would want an overpayment.

I recall AV was very impressed with Niklas Jensen too.

But I don't see VAN and NYR being good trade partners. Mirror image teams with similar strengths and weaknesses.

Keith Ballard was his favorite hahaha jokes aside dale Weise who was a former ranger himself is one of his favorites along with Andrew ebbett. You can have the rights to ebbett for a 7th besides them no one that would be available for cheap. Kesler Hansen Higgins hamhuis Bieksa Jensen were among his favorites

Clowe likes AV and said he would waive his NTC to go Vancouver if asked. I think Clowe will return.

That still depends on the price, just like it did before AV showed up.

Nah, its not uncommon at all with players following coaches around.

With Torts, we got Fedetenko and Prospal for example.

Agreed. I don't remember specifically, but I'm sure Jacque Lemaire was a huge factor of the Wild signing Brian Rolston years back.

It might make sense for FA signings, but I don't think it makes sense for trades.

The beast better stay in the East. Seeing him in Canucks blue would be like a dagger to the heart.

I see this as actually highly possible. When healthy Raymond can be productive and be knows AV's system.
Rome I see as a deadline day pick up for the Rangers. Ebbett a summer signing for Depth.

As a Canucks fan, youre going to want our current crop of players to stay the hell away from AV. It would be like trying to light a match with a glass of water.

Running low on French Canadian 4th line/AHL level grinders. Don't see anything AV would want.

I could see Lapierre signing in NY next month, but I don't see our teams making any trades right now.

No thanks. Kassian despite a poor year still managed 7 goals, which is 12 goals in a 82 game schedule. Kassian is arguably the most untouchable piece on the team due to a number of factors. FWIW I like Kreider.

After Ballard is bought out AV will insist the Rangers sign him so that he still has his favourite bench warmer.

Would LOVE having Kesler in NY. Would there be any way to pry him out of VAN?

Wow, the people who were freaking out about this thread need to relax. It's a good premise and interesting one.

I can see Raymond signing with the Rangers.
