Now that everyone on the Hawkes konws whats wrong with Horton, he'll be an easy target. I say sit him and put in Soderberg.

Horton update:

Quote:
1:10 p.m.: Nathan Horton will play Game 2 for the Bruins, that’s according to Horton himself. Horton met with the media following the Bruins’ morning skate, and he told reporters that he’ll be in the lineup as Boston looks to even the series before heading home.

Nathan Horton pronounces that he's been cleared to play, and will suit up for Game 2 tonight #BruinsTalk
In that case nevermind, but how effective will he be?

He will be as effective as he's been prior to us actually knowing he's been playing injured.

I believe it was Horton's LEFT shoulder that he was clutching, right? Better to be the left IMO, as he would need it for support while shooting and stick handling, and the RIGHT bears the brunt of the pressure.

The only thing I can see this impacting is his reach. He shouldn't be reaching out for pucks. Then again, that's a good thing with him cuz it's a nasty habit he gets into sometimes.

Just as long as he keeps his arms either below shoulder height, or if he's gotta raise his arm he keeps it tucked into his chest, he should be "ok." I confirmed everything with Recchi.

Daren Dreger was on TSN Radio this morning and he said that he expects both Bergeron and Towes to play tonight.

Bruins will have media availability tomorrow, so they'll probably have all the updates then.

The first thing that should come to mind when anyone mentions chronic shoulder dislocations is Mel Gibson throwing himself against a wall after escaping from a straitjacket in Lethal Weapon 2. TOTALLY REALISTIC (not really). While Nathan Horton hasn’t escaped from a straitjacket and nobody has seen him launching himself into walls, the Bruins have admitted he has a “chronic shoulder issue.”
Horton’s problems began April 20th when a fight with Jarome Iginla ended with him skating off holding his left arm awkwardly. The fight itself wasn’t much to see – A few punches, and Iginla dumped Horton to the ice. They were holding each other’s jerseys when he went down, which could explain the injury – the weight of one’s body on an outstretched arm is a great way to dislocate a shoulder. It’s also a great way to suffer a shoulder subluxation, a similar injury in which the shoulder comes partway out of the socket, and pops back in. The problem of course is that once you’ve had one injury in which you’ve dislocated (or subluxed) your shoulder, you’re very likely to do it again.

Would just like to point out that I believe that was Lethal Weapon 1, the straightjacket scene.

Update: Bergeron will not be at today's break-up day, as he has been under observation at a local hospital since the conclusion of Gm 6 ^BB

Poor Bergy is going to be a mess for his wedding. I hope they were just planning to go sit on a quiet beach for their honeymoon and not anything strenuous.

I'm sure much like game 6 he will take some...medication...and will still be suiting up and initiating body contact, perhaps he even scores.

True, except this time swelling should not be a problem.

Obviously, the Bergeron news will lead to a lot of debate about being allowed to play. There's still an information gap here...
