He's looking much better in dallas then he did here. He started on the 4th line for whatever reason...but I don't see him being there for a while. He looked quite good tonight (Center ice). That Ivanans goal btw, was just a lucky bounce...no one on the ice, not even Turco can be blamed for it.

Why the **** do we have two threads on this topic of a player who no longer and never really played here?

All the players just being traded always looks good at the beginning. But again, he's still a 60-point producer so he will have to look good at some point.

Why don't you post a link to each player stats, that way you wont have to update them manually.

I don't think we'll be hearing "Ivanas scores" 27 times this year

When will people learn, Gainey isn't going to make some absurb trade like sending our most popular russian along with our most popular rookie. Eklund thought they wud trade Abeischer/Ribeiro/Ryder/Souray 1st/2nd picks for Malkin.

Hainsey and Brett Clark anyone?

How many players have we shipped elsewhere so they can fill their potentials there?

From TSN:

- D Brett Clark leads the Avs in ice time, and is the first blueliner off the bench on the PP.

and

- The Blue Jackets defence pairing of Duvie Westcott and Ron Hainsey, which played so well last season, is being asked to do even more this year, with the pair getting power play minutes and combining to play nearly 49 minutes per game.

I have to say, I knew Hainsey would unblock wherever he would go.

The game I saw between the jackets and canucks, Hainsey was paired up with Foote on the #1 unit and he got over 20 minutes of ice time.

But then again, Klesla was out of the lineup, so maybe it was just a temporary thing.

I'm having a hard time believing Hainsey is having success. He was just so awful in most aspects of the game.

Hainsey is a stick-and-pin guy with limited agility. His top side on offense is 30 points imo.

Brett Clark sucks.

I'm not worried.

I don't even care about Beauchemin, who I think is overrated. His agility and his reads are average, like the rest of his game. I give him all the credit for being a battler, but he's a third pairing guy without Neidermeyer imo.

I agree that our defense should have been upgraded a long time ago, but not by these guys.

Somebody created a thread especially to avoid those numerous repeated threads about former players. Not saying we shouldn't talk about it, just saying we should use the appropriate thread to do so....

I wouldn't take Hainsey or Clark over any of our current defensemen.

I would still rather have Beauchemin back than Hainsey or Clark.

Conroy was eons ago. You might as well include Leclair and Chelios if you are going to include him.

For every marginal player (at the time) we lose and who becomes useful eventually, we find one ourselves (Bégin, Johnson, Huet).

With Hainsey, it was clear that he was not a "gainey-type" player, so it should come as no surprise that Gainey was willing to take the risk of sending him down and calling him back up.

With Beauchemin, the guy simply did not earn a spot on the team in 2004 and was picked off waivers. Every year, some Habs fans get overly excited about a couple of minor league d-men in the system (Descôteaux, Korneev, Razin, Archer, Shasby, O'Byrne, etc.) who never make it. Kudos to guys like NewsHabsEra who said he was worth keeping, but really, it's not that important.

Complaining about Clark is ridiculous. He was claimed in the expansion draft by Atlanta 8 years ago.

People will also need to realize that hockey has a lot to do, like life itself, with timing. We have 4 UFA next year, don't you think that if Beauchemin, Clark and Hainsey would be with Hamilton right now, they wouldn't get a closer look????Some mistakes were made 'cause in most of those cases, Habs had no choice, some people needed to be on waivers.....
