Two outs, Martin on first. Walker hits a double into the right field corner. Puig slides to get the ball and bobbles it a bit. Leyva holds Martin at third with two outs. The throw from Puig lands halfway up the thrid base line. He would have been safe by a mile.

I'd like them to stop making excuses for such an awful call by the third base coach. Barring a huge bottom of the 11th, it cost us the game. Bad throw or no, if you think the runner even has a 33% chance of scoring on that play, you send him, because that's higher than the likelihood that he gets driven in with 2 outs.

At any other time of the game you absolutely hold Martin there because the only way he's going to be safe is if the throw was bad...but at that part of the order with 2 outs in the bottom of the 9th and a chance to win the game you absolutely send him.

A predictable rookie mistake by Puig there would have let Martin score easily.

Went ahead and got mlb.tv. I was going to the Pirates game today, (didn't have tickets but was going to use Stubhub) but with the rain, decided to stay home. So decided to spend that money I would have spent today at the Pirates game, and got mlb.tv. Looks great on Apple tv.

Watching the Cards game now, during the Pirates rain delay. Marlins up 4-1.

Same story from Cole so far. I want to see more strikeouts today, Dodgers have too many power bats to keep throwing fastballs.

Nice piece of hitting by Jones there. Grienke looks perennially pissed.

Would have been nice to get the strikeout to avoid that run, but he's mixing in the offspeed stuff well so far, and Puig's hit was just well placed. I'm more curious about the second time through the lineup.

Hopefully we can get Grienke out of there early and get to the bad Dodgers bullpen. With the Cardinals losing again barring a miraculous comeback, it's a good opportunity to make up some ground and keep pace with the Reds, who look like they will win today.

That would have been a good time for Daydro to show up, though he's been reasonably solid lately, even drawing some walks.

Despite basically getting screwed by the umpire, Daydro strikes again! Shrubbery!

Are you watching on iPad or a computer? I've noticed a lag on the iPad but the computer seems better (also works better, I have trouble once or twice a week with the iPad app).

Well, fairly mediocre showing from Cole. It's clear that he'll need to miss more bats, and the offspeed stuff is going to be a learning process.

Nice work by Justin Wilson there as usual. Have to lock this down and gain ground on the Cards.
