Arpon Basu ‏@ArponBasu 37s
Subban had 1,266 voting points, 66 first place votes. Runner up Ryan Suter had 1,230 points, 65 first place votes.

Arpon Basu ‏@ArponBasu now
Erik Karlsson received a third place vote for the Norris Trophy.

Damn he looked like a million bucks. Such a smart guy with the right values, the right attitude.. how can people hate this guy ? He brings smarts, color (in more ways than one), skill, and so much more to the NHL and the habs.

This award is 100% deserved no matter what clowns say on the NHL main board. Feels good to have a player like him on our team.

MB don't mess this up.. ink this guy for the next 8 years following this next year (so 9 in total).

Maybe a bit ridiculous but Markov should definitely receive a few votes.

No way Subban wins the Norris without him.

Subban outplayed him pretty much since he joined the lineup...

What? Not even close. Markov's best games were before subban joined the team and before most of the league had found it's legs. Once subban joined the squad, he was our #1 from the get go. Whether Therrien wanted to admit it or not.

Good for him, **** the haters.

And good on Karl and Maria for raising such successful and good young men. His Dad must absolutely love seeing his son win a Norris for the team he is crazy for.

You know what argument is not ridiculous ?

Having a training camp, and not missing the start of season would undoubtedly have made a positive difference for Subban.

Okay I got it wrong it was 15 games that Therrien gave him less ice time than Markov and I remember that I was agreeing with the coach, since I was seeing Subban was playing a little shaky defensively unlike Markov.

Here Pk ice time at the start of the season :

FEB 27 '13 MTL @ TOR 19:46
FEB 25 '13 MTL @ OTT 20:08
FEB 23 '13 NYR @ MTL 21:40
FEB 21 '13 NYI @ MTL 21:10
FEB 19 '13 MTL @ NYR 17:56
FEB 18 '13 CAR @ MTL 19:58
FEB 16 '13 PHI @ MTL 20:49
FEB 14 '13 MTL @ FLA 21:27
FEB 12 '13 MTL @ TBL 18:25
FEB 9 '13 TOR @ MTL 22:22
FEB 7 '13 MTL @ BUF 21:02
FEB 6 '13 BOS @ MTL 21:23
FEB 3 '13 OTT @ MTL 15:28
FEB 2 '13 BUF @ MTL 18:01

This Kevin McGran and Arpon Basu conversation on twitter is the exact reason these idiot writers shouldn't be voting.

Kevin McGran ‏@kevin_mcgran 40m

More writers than I'd care to admit, however, voted for PK Subban for Norris. I like PK and all, but aren't you supposed to play D?

Arpon Basu ‏@ArponBasu 39m

@kevin_mcgran He's a very good defensive player Kevin

Kevin McGran ‏@kevin_mcgran 38m

@ArponBasu Not nearly as good as … i could list dozens.

Dozens?

This conversation goes on and on, Toronto beat writers should be ashamed but then again there are much worse lol

He definitely deserved it more than ANY other defenseman in the NHL. Now let's hope he won't ask for too much money on his next contract

According to Rds.ca (http://www.rds.ca/hockey/lnh/simplem...lleur-1.632459) Subban received 1266 pts, 1230 for Suter and 914 for Letang.

I seriously thought it would've been a close race between Subban and Letang.

For some reasons there is a strong stigma about Pk Subban and Erik Karlsson are only all offense guys with no defense like Mike Green was back in 2008-2010, but it's really wrong.

Congrats to PK!!!

Interestingly Pittsburg had 3 players receive votes. The teams with more than one candidate are:

Habs: 1st (Subban), 13th (Markov)
Pens: 3rd (Letang), 19th (Orpik), 23rd (Martin)
Ducks: 4th (Beauchemin), 23rd (Souray)
Bruins: 5th (Chara), 21st (Seidenberg)

So who thinks we have the best 1-2 punch on D?

I wasn't the only one saying that he wasn't playing that well defensively during this time and he turned his game around and played to his own amazing level after this time.

You're saying you didn't saw any difference during the season ?

I'm guessing that all the Habs brass aren't as good as you to judge that then.

I remember people complaining about Subban messing up the PP and wishing Diaz would play instead of him. That was completely ridiculous and annoying.

Actually PK was incredible from the start. So no.

Quote:

You are aware that Subban is one the the Norris winner with the lowest ice time/game ever ?

You are aware that Subban had 2nd most ice time on PK on 2nd best PK of the league last year but almost didn't play on it this season ?

You are aware that Bergevin made the Norris trophy winner sit with an incredible lowball offer ?

The habs brass messed up real bad with Subban. Real bad. They ****ed up big time. I can see how someone would have made that mistake at the time.. maybe.. but you saying these things now after the fact is a bit ludicrous IMO.
