Rychel is fine , maybe not a legit top 6 but fills a major need for size and grit

Mueller for me. Just like his all around game and skating ability. He's a good sized, mobile, minute eating defenceman which is almost impossible to find at a reasonable price in free agency. You're better off harvesting those guys early.

You can get a Rychel equivalent in the 2nd round with Moutrey or Baptiste. Actually, they are much better skaters.

I think he is gone by 25

Voted for Mirco Mueller. He's easily the BPA in my opinion. He's a unique player in the organization. Great skater, huge, very high hockey IQ, and lots of upside.

McCarron would be my second pick. Followed by Poirier, McCoshen, and Nastasiuk.

Damn i didn't like the way the draft went...would have taken Sam morin but he went just before our pick...

i think I'd trade down at that point or select Hagg dauphin or Poirier i think...

If the Habs were to get Mueller, the D mix would be pretty ideal.

With Tinordi and Mueller taking care of our own end, it would allow Subban and Beaulieu tons of freedom in terms of creating offence. I don't think the importance of this can be understated. Obviously, Subban should continue to remain a force in our zone too.

Tinordi brings huge size, great reach, strong battle level and physical play, Mueller would bring a more cerebral approach with great skating skating ability, terrific reads and overall steadiness. He also seems to have a decent amount of offence in his game.

Tinordi, Mueller and Beaulieu all 6'2'' or taller.

Throw in Gorges, Emelin, the rest of the D prospects and it's a strong mix going forward.

I am torn between Mueller and Rychel.
Rychel addresses a need , gritty goal scoring winger, but Mueller is best player available. So my vote goes to Mueller while hoping we can fill the need at the wing with our second round picks with players projected to go in the thirties like Poirier and McCarron.

Mccarron for me. Going to play in the NCAA and he already has amazing size. He will develop into quite the PWF IMO. If he doesn't he can be an effective 3rd liner.

Of the guys available in this mock, he's my pick too, for the exact same reason you stated.

You are probably right. Subban is picked not on a base of being a great prospect, but for being PK's brother, and maybe we could see a Subban-Subban tandem one day. Based on need with that pick they would probably be better defenders like Heatherington, Bigras or Theodore...

I'm hoping that by going through each team's forum I would get a better idea of who there team might select since those fans should know the most about there teams, so given the circumstances who would the Canadiens select 25th overall?

Picks so Far:

Avalanche: Seth Jones
Panthers: Nathan Mackinnon
Lightning: Jonathon Drouin
Predators: Aleksander Barkov
Hurricanes: Sean Monahan
Flames: Elias Lindholm
Oilers: Valeri Nichushkin
Sabres: Rasmus Ristolainen
Devils: Hunter Shinkaruk
Stars: Alexander Wennberg
Flyers: Darnell Nurse
Coyotes: Max Domi
Jets: Frederik Gauthier
BlueJackets: Bo Horvat
Islanders: Nikita Zadorov
Sabres: Adam Erne
Senators: Andre Burakovsky
Red Wings: Valentin Zykov
Blue Jackets: Ryan Pulock
Sharks: Anthony Mantha
Leafs: Curtis Lazar
Flames: Josh Morrissey
Capitals: Ryan Hartman
Canucks: Samuel Morin

after I go through all 30 picks of the first round I will post the results in the prospect section.

I also ask that I'm looking to poll Canadiens fans so if your not a Canadiens fan and just browsing I ask that you refrain from voting thanks.

also Mods I realize you guys have a prospects thread but this type of thing needs to be done in a poll so I ask that you don't delete/merge the thread to allow me to continue thanks
This is a very nice mock draft, although it doesn't fit our interests, thats why i posted that i would prefer to trade down in order to gain more 2nd round picks. A few thoughts though for this mock are:

1. I find it difficult to believe that Fucale drops that far, i mean late-late 1st, or even 2nd round.
2. I also believe that Petan, with his offensive flair, although undersized, will be picked in the top-20, with Detroit being my best bet.
3. I dont believe that the Sharks are going to pick Mantha instead of Klimchuk (if they pick a forward) or Mueller (if they pick a defensemen)

What are the odds when we take the stand and pick that both Morin and Mantha are available? This is going to be a tough one for Bergevin, and there is a chance this actually happens. I think that we should prepare a back up plan of gaining a second late 1st round pick, if something like this comes down...(maybe CGY's 27th?). Just thoughts...

Subban in the first round is quite laughable, to say the least.

I really like the way Rychel plays and if these are the prospects MTL has to choose from when it is our pick, then I would be happy to have him.

I have chosen Rychel. He's a probably the BPA but I dont have many time to scout this year so my opinion should not ben strongly consider this year. I think if we took him, it will because its a sure shot because we have many of our scouts around Brady Vail this year and they have probably a solid opinion on him. If he's our choice, it will be a great new for us. I just dont wish another Latendresse on board.

Mueller and petan should be off the boards already we are thrilled if one of these players fall to our pick. Which one do we pick ? I don't even care.

How you guys would prefer Morin to a guy like Mueller is mind boggling. The hype train surrounding the Q guys is unbearable. Mueller is a superior player on every part of the ice that is not done with the fist or a ruler.

Except Jordan is a worse prospect in a deeper draft. PK just won the Norris, I'd say less than zero percent chance Jordan can follow in his footsteps. Third round highest we should take him. MAYBE with our third second rounder.
