Big question... Does P.K. get consideration for captaincy?

I can remember a few names but this post stands out:

There were a few others who were casually dismissing his talent as if he's just a regular ol' Bouillon or something. Pretty interesting seeing how easily fans turn on players but blindly side with management for years and years (I was guilty of this with Gainey/Gauthier, myself).

Subban's the real deal like few others are, and he's ours. Give him more minutes, more responsibilities, a leadership role, etc. He deserves it, he's a Hab through and through.
Who was Subban being compared to?

Michael Del Zotto? John Carlson? Who else?

By the way:

The fact Subban is not considered a "character player" shows that character is a completely meaningless attribute when used by fans to evaluate players.

Subban is by all means a character player.

To you. To the majority of NHL fans he's more of a 'character'.

I'm so damn happy for PK, he deserves it big time, the fact he's with us (hopefully for a long, long time) tops everything. I don't care about his next contract, we've needed a player like him for a while now, we just need to surround him better on D (our youngsters should help in that department), and we'd be set for a good time on our end.

Anyway, congrats PK !

He makes a perfect captain with how he talks and deals with the media, but I don't think he has enough respect around the league, which is really cuz some other players are just haters. I think it's clear Gorges is the next captain of this team, I could see Subban get an "A" in the next couple of years, and maybe be a captain in his 30 when his game kinda cooled off, ex Chelios.

Awesome and well deserved. Guy has exceeded my expectations for sure and seems to just be getting better. He has developed into one of the very best defensemen in the league.

PK Subban keeps trolling the miserable haters.

And to those who wished MB signed him at a discount. Hats off to PK for rising to the challenge. MB will gladly pay him whatever he's worth. Assuming he signed his 5-year contract, if PK had proven to be Norris caliber, MB and PK would have agreed to renegotiate the hypothetical long-term contract anyway. Having a star player at a discount long-term is stupid because it would have meant the head office has lack of respect towards an important player -- and consequently, the said player wouldn't be really happy playing for such organization.

You are way too fast. PK may be C one day but this won't happen before two or three years.

PK does work very much and is competing.
You can blame him for a lot of things but I do not remember a lack of efforts from PK.

You can blame him for a lot but not his ethics on the ice.
The coaches are trying to channel all this energy to get more results.

Totally agree on your point.
But PK might do it before 30.

I think that PK can evolve faster than Chelios.
Partly because Habs management is giving more support to Subban than they gave to Chris.
Also, I think that PK is going to mature faster than him.

Let's be frank here: Chelios had more edges than PK but it was hiden by Habs management.
PK is nowhere near CC off the ice.

Habs management want PK to be the best player that he can be.
MB wants his players to be the best they can be.

It is upon PK to give us a deal if he wants to help our team to compete for the SC.
He could probably get 7M if he wants, but I would love to see him give us a deal at 6M.
Most teams who are competing for SC had players who took less money to be part of a winning team.

Next year will define our team: Eller, Subban, Markov, Diaz and Emelin are all up for a new contract.
Together they will all decide if they want to stay with us and try to be part of a dynasty.

My favourite hockey player. Quite possibly of all time.

I called this moment many years ago, long before PK was even on most people's radar. So proud of him and so happy he's a part of this organization hopefully for a very long time.

It's unfortunate that this will be taken with a grain of salt by alot of his haters. The funny thing is, the vast majority of the fans within our division see just how good PK is because they've actually seen him play a lot. The only fan base that snubs him is Ottawa and that's because he is a direct threat to their golden boy Erik Karlsson.

Well, give me PK any day of the week. It's about damn time a Hab wins a major award.

Please, he's a 6' 9" beast. Chara plays to his strengths as well as any player in the league, knows his limitations and knows what makes him successful. Nothing dirty about him imo.

We don't need to bash other players to prop up our own. Chara is the most effective shutdown dman in the league, he plays with an edge and he towers over most other players, of course it's going to seem like he's abusing his powers, he that much bigger than 99.9% of the league.

I'd love to have him.

I'd also love to have him but he's a dirty POS who nearly murdered another player on the ice and then claimed he didn't know what he was doing. **** him, hope his decline is slow and painful.

I know exactly how you feel and damn straight there's nothing wrong about that.

You can like a player for many things but none have ever been as unique as PK Subban in terms of overall excitement package. You couple that with his world class skills, young enthousiasm, and the fact that he is a game breaker than will make electrifying end to end rushes and it's impossible not to be hooked.
