Chris Stewart FOR......

I have been reading alot of blogs lately all over the internet and I didnt realize how many St. Louis Blues fans would actually like to see Chris Stewart traded. I love this player and think there would be alot of NHL teams interested in him. I am pretty sure he is a RFA now and with the Blues having to sign a bunch of other RFA's and with a ton of great youth coming up, maybe Chris Stewart is actually expendable. What is a good offer for Stewart? They have unreal youth up and coming.... but they desperately need goal scoring!!! Maybe theyd use him to address their goal scoring need???... What does everyone think??

Its the Lack of offensive dman on the Blues. Shattenkirk is the only O dman.

Nashville:Blum and a 4th round

to

St. Louis: Chris Stewart

Adds Offensive depth to your d core while. Giving Nashville a good offensive forward.

You may have heard of Pietrangelo. Bouwmeester isn't bad offensively either.

Blum would be a pointless addition.

If Stewart is traded it will be for a playmaking center.

What would the blues be looking for in a Stewart deal?

Our D is set
JBow - Petro
Jackman - Shattenkirk
Cole/Russell - Polak

If Stewart is traded it will be for a center

The problem: the blues need scoring
Solution: Trade their leading scorer for Blum

I'm not opposed to trading Stewart in a deal to get a similar caliber center, but I think it's important to remember that he was the blues' leading scorer this year. Blum makes 0 sense (he would not even be in the blues' starting 6 D)

Pavelski would be great on the other hand

Need to add a significant piece to Stewart to get Pavelski. Grabo and Kulemin would be a great fit in St Louis, put Tarasenko on the other wing and watch that line just fly. Only problem is $5.5 is far too much for the Blues to take on (nevermind that Toronto doesn't have much interest in Stewart--we have two better, or more consistent rather, players that do basically the exact same thing in JVR and Lupul).

Winnipeg seems like a good fit. They need a 2nd line RW, and St Louis needs a centre. Stewart for Burmistrov + Miettinen + 2nd/3rd?

That seems like a bit if an overpayment for Stewart. He's a defensive liability.

I didn't think so. I was thinking that would just be a base for the deal. Chris Stewart+ for Pavelski?

Agreed. Defenseman isn't exactly on the list of the Blues needs, a playmaking center certainly is. They could make a deep run with more offense down the middle.

None of those pieces fill any needs for us.

Stewart and Polak to Montreal

Plekanec, 2013 34th pick, Kristo to St. Louis

Might need some tweaking.

Value is good, but we need Polak as we'd only be left with 2 NHL RHD and we don't really need Kristo with both Jaskin and Rattie coming up.

Take out Kristo, add Thrower and Dallas 3rd. How is that?

It still makes our defense worse and that's something that we've been building, so I don't see us taking away from it anytime soon. Maybe if the coaches are high on Cole being able to fill Polak's spot as he's played on his off-side before.

Something around Stewart and Pleks can definitely be worked out though.

Stewart, 2013 1st, Hakanpaa for Plekanec, 2013 34th.
