Over 40 teams? What?

He was widely considered a second round pick, that's not a player who you should respond to with "who?"

Anyways, is it safe to say that PK's likely to make Team Canada next year? Looking forward to getting his jersey

Yeah reading that poster call him "colored" made me feel pretty uncomfortable, don't know about anybody else

Yeah, about that Karlsson pic.

I'm obviously not shocked by this in any way. I've done worse, we all did, let's not kid ourselves. On the Sens board, they say it shows the guy has 'personality' and 'swagger', not like the other players, you know!

But just imagine, for one second, what happens if PK tweets something remotely close to this...

He'd be labelled a raging alcholic for the next 10 years.

This award is now officially meaningless, one of the worst defensemen in hockey and he wins this, he better thank Markov for holding his hand all season."

I can't ****ing believe what I just read. Why people have this need of being arrogant AND ignorant? Have they watched him this season?

I'm sure these people weren't complaining last year when Karlsson won it. I need to stop reading these ****** comments before I break something.

PK winning the Norris is amazing for a variety of reasons .. first cause he kicked ass all year long and deserves it. secondly cause its awesome having a norris trophy winning D man on the team .. and thirdly because reading all the ******** comments from all the haters on the various articles and boards is just awesome... their hatred and jelousy is just sooo damn obvious it puts a huge smile on my face.. Lovin it

Soooooo happy to have the best defenceman in the NHL as a Canadien!

I think everytime one of us mention PK Subban on the main board, we should call him Norris Trophy winner PK Subban.

some of you care way too much about what other people think, especially faceless internet ppl.

In the end PK Subban's name is engraved on the Norris, and all the arguments, TOI, opinions, etc will not take that away.

If youre a fan, just enjoy that.

PK

Don't even bother. This poster obviously knows nothing about PK or the Habs. It's actually pretty funny.
And anybody that gets that upset over an individual award is either a kid or needs a new freaking life.

Actually, no.

True the pros didn't pick him in the 1st but the posters in that thread were complaining about Subban being picked in the SECOND round. There were another 17 places after Subban was picked. Who is to say that most of those teams wouldn't have picked him in the second?

Man, reading that thread has really deflated me for this year's draft. Some really draft knowledgeable posters come out of that thread with egg on their faces. I think I will stop listening to them about possible picks and just wait for the draft.

Great to see him reach the this level. Long time since Hab dman has won this award and we can only hope he wins a few more in his career! Sure this well mean more money come time to resign him but he will likely be worth every penny.

Subban wasn't exactly a safe pick and had one of the biggest development curves in the history of sports. In their wildest dreams our scouts couldn't have thought Subban would win the Norris.

Well even if had he been picked up by another team after us, it would still be a mid-late 2nd round selection. If any of them thought he'd be a Norris winner by year 3, he could have arguably been a 1st overall. On that note, they all got it wrong.

As for the draft, even experts working for NhL teams get it wrong so you shouldn't be surprised that amateurs from this board also do. I mean Timmins crapped out big time on Fischer, are you gonna stop listening to him??
Drafting is not an exact science, every team will make mistakes.

I think what's funnier is the people that still had doubts about PK back in January.

And yet the whole boards STILL make fun of Habs fans for the Ryder+Halak+2nd offer.....how many out there would turn down that offer now?

And, Subban was seen as a boom/bust pick.....I for one am just happy we finally had one boom instead of bust for a change

Subban might've been available in the third.

Benn was available in the fourth.

Not an exact science? More like a crap shoot in my opinion. Look at this years winners:

Art Ross
Winner: Martin St. Louis (undrafted)
Runner Up: Steven Stamkos (1st overall)

Calder
Winner: Jonathan Huberdeau (3rd overall)
Runner Up: Brendan Gallagher (147th overall), Brandon Saad (43rd overall)

Selke
Winner: Jonathan Toews (3rd overall)
Runner Up: Patrice Bergeron (45th overall), Pavel Datsyuk (171st overall)

Hart
Winner: Alexander Ovechkin (1st overall)
Runner Up: Sidney Crosby (1st overall), John Tavares (1st overall)

Norris
Winner: PK Subban (43 overall)
Runner Up: Kris Letang (62nd overall), Ryan Suter (7th overall)

Lindsay
Winner: Sidney Crosby (1st overall)
Runner Up: Alexander Ovechkin (1st overall), Martin St. Louis (undrafted)

Messier
Winner: Daniel Alfredsson (133rd overall)
Runner Up: Dustin Brown (13th overall), Jonathan Toews (3rd overall)

Richard
Winner: Alexander Ovechkin (1st overall)
Runner Up: Steven Stamkos (1st overall)

Crozier
Winner: Craig Anderson (77 & 73)
Runner Up: Sergei Bobrovsky (undrafted)

Vezina
Winner: Sergei Bobrovsky (undrafted)
Runner Up: Henrik Lundqvist (205th overall), Antti Niemi (undrafted)

Jennings
Winner: Corey Crawford (52nd overall) / Ray Emery (99th overall)
Runner Up: Sergei Bobrovsky (undrafted)/Steve Mason (69th overall)

Although top picks certainly did well for themselves, with the exception of the Hart Trophy and the Richard Trophy they didn't dominate any category. Two undrafted players won three awards and were nominated for a fourth (St. Louis & Bobrovsky) while another (Niemi) was nominated but lost to another undrafted player. All told five awards were won by players from the first round (none drafted later than third overall), two from the second, one from the third, one from the fifth. In terms of nominees seven were from the first round, two from the second, two from the third, three from the fourth, one from the seventh and six were undrafted.

I recall Timmins saying Subban can be a top pairing D after the draft.

The thing with Subban and the doubts about him at draft day...is that few players have had the progressive curve Subban had/has.

He's improved by leaps and bounds since his draft year...

and I don't even think we've seen the tip of the iceberg

The way I look at it is...

At least he's honest...half of the people who hate on Subban would never admit the real reason (or even have the depth to understand) why they do.
