Anyone hear rumor that some high school teams will no longer accept double letter players? I.e. You need to commit to one (community or school).

Not sure if this is an individual high school or a GMAA directive. I suspect it is individual high school.

BTW, be prepared this year will be total chaos for anyone in AAA/AA. There are issues with who gets what ice for tryouts etc...

Someone I know will coach a BB team and was told no one has any clue when tryout camps can start because no one knows when AAA/AA will do cuts.

Did not double letters run into 1st week of March this year for regular season? That is very condensed actually.

I assume they could not play more games because of the travel now required.

Deux Rives has named their Peewee BB coach. Same as last year, Chris Sevigny.

I heard Sevigny was a candidate for a AA team maybe AAA so I am surprised. Unless it is posted who knows what is rumor or speculation. I was at Meltdown on Saturday and rumors were all over the map.

Some said emails went out for invites. Some said not true. Again, nothing is posted on any website.

What did you hear ?

I'm close to the situation. I was told by Sevigny himself that he was coaching BB.

The Sevigny rumor came up on these boards. I do not know the Deux Rives guys that well. It came from someone in Versant Ouest who assumed he was in running since he already had coached BB last year. Right now because there is not much transparency everyone is guessing.

You get enough crazy hockey parents together at a AAA tournament. You know what happens.

Sevigny is the entraineur chef for Deux Rives. He confirmed that he had zero interest to get involved with the AAA/AA stuff. He is confirmed as the peewee BB coach again in Deux Rives. He told me that the organization AAA/AA is very poor. The lions side of things is totally disorganized compared to the Arsenal side. Parents are being left out without info. If you ask how much it is going to cost on the community side, your told anywhere between 2500-8000$ WTF.

Sevigny hasn't even sent his own son to the tryouts even though his kid was a dominant first year def. in peewee BB mesuring 5' 8" and weighing 150 lbs.

My son goes into this whole mess of PW next years so when I ask around, it is not pretty and it means when he hits high school, time for school program!

Fundamentally, you have a forced marriage of associations that cannot negotiate together or get along.

Who suffers. The kids do. BB we will be a terrific level to watch next year.

I had heard from a DR coach that he would likely get PW-AA DR, but that was before we knew about DDV.

His team did to to the finals last year. Seems like he knows his stuff.

By next year do you mean this year ?

At some point I'd like to leave LSL, won't be soon.

His team did go to the finals. He has been coaching since 1990 in the old North Shore association.

My son applies for high school next year so obviously all this AAA/AA stuff really concerns me and affects my decision making.

The sad part is 90% of the parents get no information or have no idea where to get info. I got through the various association web sites to get some info.

He also played with Mike McGrath, seems well connected.

No. My son would likely not make AA as first year. It is how it all will impact BB and CC in peewee which interests me.

I have alot of people I know whose kids are in AAA/AA mix and they feel like some parents are in the loop and some are out.

BB will be very strong, will be interesting to see how things shape up, I think that if I can get a team I will be very successful in developing the kids and getting them to the AA/AAA level.
