Already been done... with a disapointing result: no answer at all.

5-2 Habs
Cue TheDamned for his "Habs lose 4-1" prediction.
Big party in NB for the Habs opener?

6-0 Habs.

Latendresse scores his first. Kovalev, Higgins (3) and Ryder with the others.

Kaigorodov should be good in this game, his style matches that of the habs play which will give him more open ice. But i think hes gonna get rattled by begin.

From CKAC Radio.

There was a mortuary atmosphere at the Sens' morning skate. Martin McGuire said that there wasn't a word spoken by anyone during it.

That sounds so like either A) A bunch of guys hellbent on getting rid of their coach or B) Very serious internal troubles.

or C) Guys pissed off at their losing streak, in no need of reminders of it, and determined to break it tonight.

I think you're reading much too much into it. The team starts off 1-3, morale is low. No biggie.

What? where do you come up with this stuff?

I'm sick of hearing about the "mood" at the morning skate. These "reports" are totally useless. The team isn't playing well, so what. When the puck drops that night no one is going to care about the mood at the morning skate.

I think that the Senators team is badly missing Havlat and/or Chara. They lost Chara for nothing and they traded Havlat for not much. Should they had been able to keep at least Havlat to have two good scoring lines ?

Don't wanna get too much in the middle of it, but the rotating 12-13th forwards are Murray-Downey for now. The other two are performing well enough that I don't see them missing any games soon. Also, I didn't like the slight on Perezhogin either, considering he's performing admirably imo.

Anyways...

Agreed on all counts. Perezhogin had NO BUSINESS being mentioned in that post.

The only reasons I added Latendresse were...
1) While he looked a bit better vs. Philly, he has IMO been the worst of our forwards thus far.
2) If Ottawa is dressing both Neil (obviously he'll be playing) and McGrattan (questionnable), we might want both Downey and Murray in the line-up.
3) Carbo said that if Kovalev couldn't go, Latendresse would be on the 2nd line, so one might take this to mean he won't have a spot on the fourth line tonight, though it is unlikely.

But it's the home opener. Just like Carbo wouldn't deprive the fans of the Cristowall, I don't think he'll deprive them of Gui Gui Gui!

Anyone else going to the game tonight.
This will be my first home opener for the Habs I am excited.

Kovalev is playing tonight but do not be suprised to see him miss a few shifts and Latendresse get a shot or two either on the PP or even strength with Pleckanec and Samsonov.

I can't wait to see how Latendresse will react. I really think he will play his best game of the season. He really seems to like the noise (from what we have seen in preseason) while playing at the bell center.

Go Tender!!!
